I have endometriosis and have done for 20 years. I’ve got it in my bowel and have 2 large ovarian cysts.

im waiting for an operation. I was on zoladex for 12 months and it was great.

I now have a marina coil which doesn’t seem to be doing anything for me.

my periods are back to been long, heavy, clotty and so painful.

I get pain in my anus and down my legs too.

I take ibuprofen 400g but a recent has showed it’s doing my liver no good.

what pain relief or tricks do people use? Thanks I’m really at my wits end now 😊

Are you on the waiting list for surgery? That is the best pain relief performed by endometriosis specialist using excision technique.

I struggle myself with pain relief but you have the right to be referred to a pain management specialist if you speak to your gp they are best equipped to help you and would be much faster whilst waiting for surgery.

Good luck

hi I’m so sorry to hear you’re in so much pain. Have you asked about going on zoladex again or trying prostap instead? I had zoladex 15 years ago and I was told I could only ever have it once.

Turns out that isn’t correct nowadays and I have had prostap twice with HRT for 13 months each.

I stopped recently to vie my body a break and I just have the mirena but it is y ideal and I’m considering going back on prostap whilst I wait for a hysterectomy etc

Might be worth asking your gynaecologist if it’s an option. They’ll probably want to keep an eye on your bone density etc but otherwise it could be a possibility?
