Anaemia test results
Hi all, I recently did the 'Full health screen' from Monitor My Health and all the vitamin results have come back without proper ranges. Only the graphs. Which is irritating. BUT Would you supplement iron with these results? I can't afford to do a full iron panel, and I had assumed this test would

Why do we have mutations?
Why do we all have these bone marrow mutations? It cannot all be due to family DNA bad luck. My haemo told me that he is certain that my mutation is due to exposure to Benzene in petroleum products. In effect I have been poisoned by products which were supposed to be safe. Benzene compounds are still

Low sodium
What a day.Took hubby for blood tests this morning. Get a call at 4.30 from 111. Sodium too low at 125 to go straight to A&E. In A&E 6 hours. More bloods then sodium IV then sent home. His liver and kidneys apparently are struggling be I referred back to our gp. No explanation why his sodium was so

Iron results-any advice?
Hi! V grateful for all the wisdom from this forum. Just did a full iron panel on Medichecks as ferritin has been consistently low, and I've been on and off ferrous fumarate for years. GP only tests ferritin; advice on here seemed to be to get the full picture. Results below... Ferritin much better

Low MCHC
Hello all. I have a new aspect of my cbc report that has just become Low. It is MCHC. Normal is 31.0 gm/dL to 36.5. I am now 30.7. I would love comments from any others who have had low MCHC. Did you eventually need oxygen. Did they start treatment due to this? How low can it go before you physically

8 year old constipated for 5 weeks
Hello everyone, I'm hoping you can all offer some advise etc...My 8 year old boy has been suffering with constipation for several years and I would give him lactulose to help him when he was backed up and he would pass a stool once a week. Lately it is getting harder to unblock him, the last time he

Thyroid Panel Questions
Hi! I have been perusing the posts here, you seem to be a knowledgable group, I am hoping you might be able to help shed some light on what my hormones and endocrine system is UP to! I don't want to overwhelm with too much history, so I will try and cut to the chase. For a number of years I took a T3

Radium 223 before Cabazitaxel?
This was prescribed today to manage bone pain and also because my PSA has not particularly responded to Docetaxel and the bone scan shows further cancer growth. There is some doubt as to whether more chemo will do any good. Has anyone had experience of doing things this way round? I assume I could

Thyroid or Pituitary Problem?
Sorry in advance for the long essay! Desperatly hoping for some advice. I am a 30-year-old female suffering fatigue, brain fog & migraine with visual disturbances since July 2020, therefore I stopped the COCP after a 10-year use (which was prescribed for the management of menorrhagia). Since stopping

ALC is still going up
Well, today I had another CBC. My ALC continues to go up consistently at each 2 week check and I will be seeing my onco at the beginning of Feb. In addition to the rising alc, test shows a few other little changes that i don't fully understand -- my MCV is now reading high (99.50) and my MCHC is low

Brain iron vs Blood iron
Has anyone read that in RLS patients brain iron can be lower than indicated by blood measurements? I read a study out of Quebec about the gene we carry causing a malformation in the brain that makes it harder to uptake the iron.... So blood levels are not accurate in showing brain anemia. My RLS totally

Vit B and Ferritin levels
So had my FBC, Vit B and "iron" tests yesterday. Turns out they only tested Ferritin for iron, but I've got a full anaemia panel with MMH to complete this morning for a full picture. Now to play the waiting game and see what the GP decides to tell me 🙄 Edit: had a text from my surgery to let me know
