I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy a couple days ago. not long after the prep started working I started shaking teeth chatter. and heart rate and bp was high. next morning has to drink the other half and once again same issues. i have had this don’t before and did not happen. I am now in perm afib/ flutter with mild heart failure, the only thing I can think of is maybe I war dehydrated or electrolyte issues. I don’t drink as much liquid now because of the heart failure and watch my salt. I also have sodium issues because I take seizure meds for trigeminal neuralgia. But this never happened before. I also am not on fluid meds. Has this happened to anyone else

Heart and Bp issues with colonoscopy prep
Hi SKO.
I have had a colonoscopy (makes your eyes water!) and didn't have your problems. However, the following may be of interest to you. I also suggest speaking with your medic and explaining it to him/her.
Paul
It is possible that you experienced electrolyte imbalances or dehydration due to the colonoscopy prep and the limited fluid intake. These imbalances can cause symptoms such as shaking, teeth chattering, high heart rate and blood pressure. It is also possible that your history of seizure medication and sodium issues may have contributed to your symptoms.
Morning SKO......i had an endoscopy last Monday, the bowel prep i used was plenvu, 1 sachet at 6am.......followed by 2 sachets at 9am, the procedure took place at @4.30pm same day.. I too was concerned about effect it may have on my afib condition but all went ok.......i had spent 3/4 days before adjusting what time i took my meds, so that they didn't clash with taking the plenvu. Reading the enclosed instructions that came with the plenvu gave me a bit of anxiety as it mentions palpations ..........but as i said no issues...... ..
Sorry but I was actually better after my colonoscopy because I started to eat really clean, food without additives and preservatives. I also started drinking more water. I think dehydration is a cause of a lot of issues.
