Hi I am a pretty active 76 yr old. I had a Hysterectomy in March 2021. I had a couple pesseraries of different sizes fitted for 3 months before the op that were very uncomfortable. I put up with the pain as Covid had just taken off and we were in the 1st lock down.I am in general good health I do have CMT 1A and on going medication for to prevent blood cancer.

I had a good recovery from the op. just had to go back as I needed an enema 2days after leaving hospital. I was a private patient.

I used my Benenden membership to get the op done quicky.I am now a N.H. patient.

I am due to see my consultant on Monday 23/1/23 at 3pm.

I am posting the notes to give to my consultant I have made and would some guidance from anyone on what to expect to be offered in the way of help.

1. Gave up Amityptiline I was perscribed for the discomfort I was still uncomfortable and did not want to be rely on long term medication.

2.I still have the feeling of a an ill fitting pessary. Sitting down is still very uncomfortable.

3.I am having more frequent bowl movements 6 times a day and wind. A couple of months ago I had 36hrs of loose bowel movments. For the 1st time I used Imodium it worked like magic.I couldn't leave our room we were away for 3 nights on holiday. This luckily was a one off experience.
