Osteoporosis treatment post transplant
I'm post Kidney Transplant with many problems, and one is Osteoporosis. My Endocrinologist wanted to put me on Reclast and I declined. Now, he wants to put me on Prolia. There seems to be many side effects to this also. I was on Fosomax and had many bad abdominal side effects. I'm told these are my

Good day all, It's been a while since i posted and a few peeps had reached out so thought I'd provide an update. Here's a link to my original post detailing my chronic liver issues. Since then, a liver biopsy confirmed cirrhosis, most likely due to autoimmune condition. https://healthunlocked.com/

Cirrhosis diagnosis
I have recently been diagnosed with cirrhosis following abnormal blood test and fibroscan. I am a non drinker, with a BMI 22.3. The specialist says I am one of the 5-7% of people with a fatty liver but not over weight and probably hereditary. This has come as a shock. I only had a blood test because

High GGT Level
Hi, I had an ultrasound in November 22 because of a high GGT level and right side pain, the results came back as normal. I had another blood test in January and again in May of this year and the results came back as normal apart from my GGT which was 142. I don’t drink and eat healthily and still

HCC Treatment
Hi all, I'm waiting to hear what my treatment plan will be following a small, singular spot that is HCC... I have Budd Chiari, liver TIPS and cirrhosis (although not bad I believe). It's the Budd C that's caused all my problems (which despite being diagnosed with since 22/23 I'm still struggling to

ELF Test
Hi I have just had my results back from my elf test it reads 9.97, which really did alarm me initially, I spoke to 2 hepatologist consultants and both have quite conflicting opinions, the first one who I will go back to for a follow up appointment I think is the most accurate, I had a fibro scan in

Advice vanishing bile duct.
My nan had suffered some liver issues due to taking an anti biotic. Alot of scans and tests later a biopsy revealed vanishing bile duct syndrome and a 70% functioning liver. She has now been put on UDCA tablets which have made her very ill. What if she isn't able to take the tablets? I just like

Binge Drinking with mild fatty liver leading to RUQ discomfort and nausea - help!
I posted 2 months ago in relation to being a very heavy drinker who had tried to become sober after an ultrasound showed mild fatty infiltration which was reversible earlier this year but I then lapsed and was terrified of having caused further damage. I was lucky to have a blood tests and an ultrasound

FIB4/APRI Scores
Hi All, Bit of background: Had a fibroscan 3.5 years ago after some history of raised AST and ALT (AST was usually around 40 and ALT around 57). Ultrasound had shown mild fatty liver and ALT had gone up to 120. Fibroscan score was 5.3 kpa with cap score of 255. Advice given was keep trying

transplant with no social support?
I have an appointment to discuss lung transplant but I have no real social support, just one elderly sibling. I did mention this to the girl on the phone but she was very breezy about it and just said when I'd had the transplant I wouldn't be let out of hospital until I was ok and the transplant would

I've had it confirmed. I've got HCC.
So following on from my previous posts, I've been told the images on the MRI have shown HCC. It's currently a single, small but treatable area. I already have a shunt (my 2nd one) and I'm already in a transplant clinic for monitoring but not on the list or had assessment. My consultant has said when

so confused and scared
hi there I don’t know if anyone can offer any help as I’m completely confused. Four years ago I had just a routine blood test and my liver function tests were through the roof. I had a liver biopsy which came back as clear so my gastro doc said it’s NAFLD and to lose a bit of weight and that was it.

normal ultrasound/raised GGT
As in my previous post my GGT was over 200 recently, My GP said to cut out alcohol and get it checked in 12 weeks, as I had pain on my right side he requested an ultrasound scan. I got fed up waiting so I've just paid for one this morning in a private scan clinic as I was worrying about my liver health

Starting treatment soon.
First of all, I'm hep c positive, diagnosed decades ago. Everything has been 'good' until recently. I had some bloodwork done about a month ago. My liver enzymes spiked (they've always been good), so my GI doctor ordered a fibroscan. The result was a 13, so I was diagnosed as F3 via the scan. Since
