Normal ALP at time of Diagnosis
Hello. I have had PBC for just over 3 years. I have always had a very normal ALP. I've read that one of the hallmarks of PBC is an elevated ALP. I have positive AMA and other elevated liver enzymes, now normal with urso. Can you explain why my ALP is normal? What does that indicate?

Had ultrasound last week. Found hyperechogenic area. Dr called and called it a lesion. Now I scheduled an MRI. Scared to death. 2 years ago raised liver enzymes. Unremarkable ultrasound. This year liver enzymes raised slightly. Not anywhere near as high as 2 years ago. Now lesion & worried. Cannot get

Odema and diuretics
I was diagnosed last September with ARLD and had a severe attack of HE that I almost didn't survive. I'm managing to control this with meds but my partner sees blips of HE now and then in my behaviour. My consultant has stopped my diuretic because it's effecting my liver and I've blown up like a balloon

Ast/alt elevated or not if ongoing damage not stopped
If someone has cirrhosis of the liver due from alcohol use would there ast and alt be elevated if they had cirrhosis and continued to drink alcohol ? That would be considered ongoing damage right?

Because Y is a crooked letter that cannot be straightened....
For the first time ever, he seen the

on my leg and said "oh ewww mum! Look at all those veins on your leg!" - I did NOT know how to react to this. I suddenly realised that my son's reaction was the reaction I've been dreading from other people.

Impending surgery concerns
Impending knee replacement and worried about impact anesthesia and post surgery pain killers could have on already level 3 liver disease. Has anyone undergone orthopedic surgery and how did it go? What I don’t want to happen is to get a new knee and then need liver transplant because of meds.

How are ones coping that are experiencing advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis?
Hi everyone, Stella here. I haven't posted a question for awhile. This particular question may be too personal for some to respond to. But, if you want to share please, please, do. I find myself now almost 5 years into my PBC diagnoses. How time flies. Doctor says I've had it unknowingly for many years

No hospital appointments
I was referred to gastro at local hospital in April. Constant daily pain in upper right abdomen and elevated bloods and very slightly enlarged liver and kidney. Anyway I booked referral via NHS appointment system and checked it today. It said if I hadn’t heard by May 4th to call them. I done this last

Really bad day today after feeling semi human yesterday. Is it normal?..
Hi everyone, I and still learning about my condition which is why I have posted a couple of times recently. I did get some positive feedback after my transplant assessment last week. I am no longer Decompensated and do not need to be on the list at this moment in time. I am really thankful of that!.
