Fatty liver and enlarged spleen - British Liver Trust
Fatty liver and enlarged spleen
Whilst NAFLD is commonly associated with diabetes it doesn't mean you should ignore it, you need to make any lifestyle changes that you can in order to prevent it from getting any worse. You've probably already see it but the BLT has a page all about Non Alcohol Related Fatty Liver Disease and one which explains how a Mediterranean Style diet has been proven to prevent progression of the condition.

It's all about doing what you can now to reduce progression.

Hello,
A fatty liver is not something to ignore as it can progress into serious liver disease. The National Institite for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have very clear guidelines about the diagnosis and management of non alcohol related fatty liver, I will give you the link. It is really important that you have the information on how fatty your liver is mild, moderate severe and that you are managed properly with the appropriate followup.
I am also going to give you the link to our publication called the Patient Charter - it tells you what you should expect from your care if you have a diagnosis of liver disease.
