Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in some cases may actually be alcoholic liver disease (ALD).
Perhaps this information has already been published on the forum. It seemed to me very interesting and worthy of attention. Excess fat in the liver cells can accumulate due to chronic poisoning with some substances - and most often this substance is alcohol. But fatty liver disease is very common in

Hi everyone one, my ALT and AST are both 100
I’m scared seeing my best friend passed in my Arms in 2019 because of chronic hepatitis which later became liver cancer, and I’m today diagnosed with the same condition chronic liver disease with both ALT and AST at 100 it’s very unfortunate for such a young man like me who had never drinks in my whole

concerned about stomach and diarrhoea
I have cirrhosis of liver not through alcohol, and now secondary bone cancer. Haven’t had to use lactulose because of getting diarrhoea. So.ndering whether it’s the food I eat? The blander the better I feel, or is my liver getting worse. So fed up with it all. And haven’t even started the cancer treatment

Contradictory information
So I'm just trying to understand and I'm not trying to be anal, but I find a lot of contradictions even here. These statements were made by PBCRobert. 8 years ago: There is much uncertainty when it comes to what constitutes a diagnosis of PBC. In the main, the concensus is that AMA positive

High Ana speckled pattern 1:640
I went to my local health dep. and paid for 2 tests out of pocket. One was for the Ana w/reflex titer and the other was for a Alp isoenzyme. I’m supposed to go see the liver dr. in Dec. and get a fibroscan done. And in the mean time he wanted me to get some tests done by Sep. My finger was fractured

Travelling on public transport with suspected liver disease/test to diagnose liver disease
Thanks to those who came back to me about this. Much appreciated. I probably wasn't very clear. I'm not asking anyone to try and tell me if they think I have liver disease or not - I appreciate that is very difficult as symptoms seem to vary and tests don't seem very reliable. What I'd like to know

Drug for post radiation fibrosis
Does anyone know anything about pentoxifylline, used to treat in post-radiation fibrosis, and it's affect in a patient with liver disease? I don't know why I'm even asking. It can't be OK? Pentoxifylline is supposed to increase blood supply and improve fibrosis. Or where to get more information? It

Giving up driving...
Hi I just needed to vent a bit and ask for advice on how to handle something. My husband has decompensated alcohol related liver disease. Cirrhosis, regularly gets new varices banded etc. He has been seen by the QE transplant team but his UKELD score is only 52 so they aren't assessing him yet and

Liver Biopsy and AI
Hello everyone! My initial diagnosis is F3-F4 alcohol-related fibrosis (but they were leaning more towards F4 cirrhosis with 17.8 kPa reading). My antibody markers were continuously high in the past 1.5 years. My doctor suggests liver biopsy to determine if this can be related to AIH at the same time

Fibroscan and liver biopsy discordance. Which one is more accurate?
My liver biopsy is F3 fibrosis but fibroscan value is F0 fibrosis. I confused. Which one is more accurate? I searched in in internet they say fibroscan is scan more liver area than biopsy sample. Was it localized fibrosis?
