Hi all, I hope everyone is doing ok ❤️

My son has had 2 liver transplants at King's College Hospital London, (at 22 months old and 19 years old).

We have attended the British Transplant Games 10 times now and find them to be an amazing event for post transplant families to meet up, have fun, and build a support network of others that understand.

I am now the team manager for the King's children's team, with competitors aged 2 to 17 joining us at the Games with their families.

My son, Conor, is now an assistant team manager on the King's adult transplant games team and looks after the transition age competitors - aged 18 to 25. (Competitors older than 25 are looked after by the adult team manager, Tracey)

We have some funding to help families / transition age young people attend the Games.

If you would like to know more about the Games please feel free to message - or find our team pages and events on Facebook (King's Children's Transplant Team is also on Instagram and Twitter)

The next British Transplant Games are in Coventry, Thursday 27 July to Monday 31 July 2023.

Leeds and BCH also have teams.

Other countries also run national / regional transplant games too.

Hi ConsMum, the Transplant Games are absolutely amazing! We know how much our parents enjoy them and have found a wonderful community of support and friendship through attending. Our children and young people love them and love meeting up with peers who completely understand them and their journey because it's the same or very similar to theirs. We do an e-briefing for parents so if it's okay we will do a little piece on this, highlighting that there is funding available from Kings to assist Kings families to attend. Thanks so much. Michelle, Head of Support CLDF
