Hypothyroidism and exercise
I keep reading that anything classed as more intense than 'moderate' exercise depletes T3 at a rate of knots; for euthyroid folks this isn't a problem as the feedback loop kicks in and their bodies produce more to compensate but for those of us reliant on taking hormones by mouth this isn't an option

Levothyroxine and Wikipedia
I was somewhat concerned to read this in Wikipédia : 'Long-term suppression of TSH values below normal values will frequently cause cardiac side-effects and contribute to decreases in bone mineral density (low TSH levels are also well known to contribute to osteoporosis).' No Wonder people are worried

Bicarbonate of Soda
I was telling someone on here last week about the problems I had when I took bicarb - and the fact it made me really vomit and I nearly passed out. Which is why I never recommend taking bicarb to do the low stomach acid test. Anyway I've never looked it up or anything until today, and I found this link

Smell sensitivity and what to do about it?
I was trying to find something more about strong reactions to smells among various posts but with limited success. A month ago following a cleaners' visit I had a very strong reaction to the smell of detergents they were using and ever since have been oversensitive to any chemical smells. Anything

VitD3 and medications that can reduce thyroid hormone absorption...
Houston Thyroid and Endocrine state
vitD3 can significantly reduce absorption of thyroid hormone
and advise taking it 4 hours away from thyroxine as advised with calcium and iron. [i]These are medications that reduce the absorption of thyroid hormone in the gastrointestinal system significantly

fEEFeel so unwell like I'm about to die, can someone please take a look at my blood work, trying to find a reason.
I don't know what to do anymore. I had ecg, heart echoes and so on due to heart palpitations, now had full blood work - not sure about the results though. Generally I just feel so weak and ill all the time, I can't even explain it, don't want to move out of my bed, don't feel like doing anything anymore

Hi to everyone I have not posted for a while as I had to have a nose operation to help me breathe properly and have just spent a few days in our Local Hospital due to a bowel blockage. I have been seeing my Mental Health Consultant and about 2 weeks ago he prescribed Lithium 400mg to take with 50mg

Medication change
I am finding a change in meds really hard. I was on venlafaxine 375 and lithium amongst others an both were cut out within about 9 days, and I am feeling terrible. Consultant said withdrawal effects would last about 48 hours, but 5 days later I still feel terrible. I was expecting depression to be worse

Running with an underactive thyroid or, Die! gland. Die!
I like running. My mental health likes running, to the extent that my dose of lithium was decreased slightly. My thyroid most definitely does not. Since I started, just over three months ago, I have found it hard to lose weight I'd started to gain again (and I have to be more careful than most as diabetes
