Not Bipolar
Hi all- I'm so glad I found this group. I've been feeling so alone since I came down with PPP after the birth of my baby girl in Sept. 2014. I had no history of mental illness and no one in my family is bipolar. My therapist said it was the "perfect storm" which made me susceptible to PPP. We had a lot

Betaine hcl
Hi, I don't seem to be absorbing B12 and I get very bloated and I seemed to have become lactose intolerant. So I did the sodium bicarbonate test to check for low stomach acid and I didn't burp at all. I tried taking Betaine hcl with Pepsin. I started with a small dose and gradually increased it. I

Argh.
So, I have taken my health in my own hands and been reading my way through scholarly articles. I recently went to theranos and got direct to consumer blood testing. Sigh. My too high iron/sat/binding is now too low. It went from the last results of 156 iron, 42% sat, binding around 400 to 40 iron

Dizziness for a month
I've been having such a hard time lately. It all started when one day I got a little bit off balance and my limbs felt heavy and I became obsessed with it. Every since then I've been dizzy and off balance every single day where I can barely walk or do anything also accompanied with ringing in my ears

Lithium as an Alternative Option in Graves Thyrotoxicosis
I suspect quite a few people have questioned whether lithium could be used in Graves treatment. The answer, in this paper, appears to be yes. The paper quotes a case in which lithium was used for a month. Obviously, longer treatment periods would tend to show more issues. Nonetheless, there is hope

Finally got a FULL 'Liver panel' done - and these are the results ....
Blood samples taken on 29 September 2015 and at last includes an ALT value which shows an AST/ALT ratio of less then 0.5, which I guess I should he happy about. Not sure about the Albumin/Globulin ratio which I've seen other people mention - I don't really get it. Anyway, the results are: BILIRUBIN

My anxiety dizziness is unbearable
I'm 18 years old and I have bipolar 2 along with terrible health anxiety. Lately a new frightening symptom that I'm having is extreme dizziness. I feel that every time I get up I will collapse and there are periods when it gets better for a few days but then it usually comes back when I'm very stressed

Sometimes, it really ISN'T all about the thyroid
I've been knackered for months, feeling squishy-flat, no interest in sex, not getting enjoyment from anything and, recently, have gone off food (still eating the same amount but not deriving any pleasure from it). Don't even feel like exercising and I love exercising. I've spent months thinking that

More on Magnesium
My AF seems less frequent in the summer. Maybe it is because I get more sun exposure and thus more vitamin D. The comment on tea could be of interest to tea drinkers. I found this information on the website below. Hopefully, this info has not already been posted. http://drmyhill.co.uk/wiki/Magnesium

Hi Christine, Jjlinden and everyone whose help has meant so much. Early hours of Thursday my husband was in agony with gout. He took the dreaded colchicine 4 tablets on Thursday and 2 on Friday. At least he was able to walk into the hospital later Friday to see the nephrologist...... What can I say..

High Bicarbonate and Albumin
Hi,does anyone know if there is any link between B12 deficiency and high Bicarbonate and high Albumin? My son's results have both come back higher than the normal range and I wondered if there was a connection, he is currently on monthly injections and uses a spray daily. Thanks

The Curious Case of the Clumping Platelets The first time I heard the phrase CLUMPING PLATELETS was on January 26th this year when following my routine (as if anything can ever be routine in ITP) 3 month blood test on January 15th. Alt high and lithium
Hi all, I am female aged 41 and I suffer with bipolar disorder for which I take lithium, a lifeline drug for me. I have regular blood tests as lithium levels need to be checked. Today I have been told that my alt levels have gone from 11 to 160 in five weeks time. My gp said I would have to stop lithium

Hypothyroidism and Lithium
I love my lithium, I really do. It's made the world a much better place to be and it's stopped me crying all the time. So, yes, big fat yay for lithium. However, I'm now wondering whether my long-standing hypothyroidism / Hashimoto's (diagnosed 20 years ago) has been affected by the lithium. I'd always
