Shingles vaccine
My husband has been called in for a shingles vaccination. Am i correct that he should ask for a non live vaccine as the love vaccine poses a risk to me as I am immune suppressed? I seem to remember hearing this somewhere. Still struggling to get answer fro my nurse advice line. Thanks

Helpful information on Potassium for RLS relief
Here is a link on Potassium to help with the symptoms of RLS. I hope this is helpful for some. I take my dose along with Magnesium Glycinate around 8 pm, along with Magnesium oil on my legs. I’m also prescribed Oxycodone 5 mg every 6 hours, along with Baclofen for PLMD. Sometimes, I need to use compression

My story won't apply to everyone, of course, but you may find a nugget worth considering. I've had mild RLS intermittently for forty years until it recently worsened. I'd always managed it with weighted heat, L-Tryptophan, magnesium glycinate, L-Theanine, and if necessary, a little pacing. At age 36,

RLS and Adenomyosis
I have had RLS for 30+ years and was also diagnosed with Adenomyosis in 2019. The pain in my legs has increased in the past 6 months to an unbelievable level and I wonder if there is any information/research on having both of these conditions as I'm wondering if the adenomyosis exacerbates the RLS?

Rls started when I was 7 months pregnant with my first child and has been rearing it’s head since 1973, 50 years. The past few months I have been taking 3gr of red vein kratom and it was helping. Lately it doesn’t seem to control it at bedtime. I spend a couple of hours exercising, stretching and

Clonazepam instead of Pregabalin?
I have just had a telephone appointment with a Neurologist which lasted all of 90 seconds, part of which he spent looking through my notes and came to the conclusion that I should try Clonazepam instead of Pregabalin for 6 months. He wasn't interested in listening to anything I had to say about iron

Is anyone else experiencing a shortage of Ropinirole for restless legs? Yet again my usual pharmacy has run out of this drug and it’s the only drug I’ve found so far, that works for me. I can’t work out if it’s my pharmacy not ordering in enough or whether the pharmaceutical company isn’t manufacturing

Trouble transitioning to Gabapentin
Due to augmentation, I switched from Ropinirole to Gabapentin about 6 weeks ago. I did it in about a month (a bit too quick, I realize now, and suffered because of it), so I've been off Ropinirole for over two weeks. Unfortunately, Gabapentin has yet to do anything for me. I'm up to 900 miligrams a day

Mouth ulcers and hydroxy
Happy New Year to you all! Since being on hydroxy, I’ve had ulcers in my mouth and with mouthwash prescribed by haematologist, they disappeared quickly. Last week, I had a blocked salivary gland, not for the first time and nothing to do with hydroxycarbamide because I had this much before diagnosed

RLS nightmare
I have had Rls for about 10 years now and am currently on Ropinirole 4mg. Nights are ok but it’s the daytime attacks that are becoming a nightmare now. I just did a 4 hour flight to Europe and despite being early morning, within half an hour my legs were going ballistic. I spent the next 3 1/2 hours

buprenorphine patch - any advice?
Hello, my GP has agreed to prescribe me the buprenorphine patch 5mg starting from Monday. He will not prescribe tablets at this point - he feels the patch will give me better coverage for both the pain in my joints and also my chronic restless legs and will counter the continual withdrawal type issues

Update on my wife
Hello everyone, my wife (Jackie) was diagnosed with MSA after an initial diagnosis of PSP on 29th Jan 2023. Now the Neurologist is trying to say her condition is Perplexed and that Wilsons disease is a possibility. She's been to have her eyes tested at Vision Express and after a thorough (90mins) examination
