LDH levels and myelofibrosis
So I have MF and my doctor is very pleased that my hemoglobin is stable at 10,9 for the last 6 weeks and my platelets are holding between 450 and 600. However, on Friday I went for my regular visit for lab work and my LDH shot up to almost 900, which it is very high for me. I’ve tried to find information

Thyroid hormone analogues: an update
Each of these compounds was able to reduce
LDL
cholesterol, but a phase 3 trial with eprotirome was interrupted because of a significant increase in liver enzymes and the contemporary report of cartilage side effects in animals. As a consequence, the other projects were terminated as well.

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) for Depression?
Has anyone here ever tried Low Dose Naltrexone (or LDN)? Low Dose Naltrexone refers to dosages ranging from approximately .5mg-5mg According to my research, some forms of depression are caused by endorphin deficiencies in the body. LDN dramatically increases endorphin levels which can be a life-changer

Didn’t get much back from my previous post but I’m wondering if anyone can answer this? Is there a time limit or can you take it for as long as you want ?

Definition of Biochemical Failure
According to the Phoenix Criteria for biochemical failure (BCR), a PSA 2 ng/ml above nadir is defined as failure and the threshold where next line therapy should be initiated. (1) I find the rationale for this criteria lacking because nadir after ADT and chemotherapy is correlated with time to recurrence

Cholesterol / LDL issues.
She also has elevated cholesterol and
LDL
. She cannot take statins, because they crank the pain threshold considerably. She also suffers from cool/cold temperatures that a person without the disease could easily tolerate. Any thoughts out there that may help? Thanks.

Blood Test Results - What should I think?
Here they are: Triglycerides @ 3.01
LDL
@ 1.1 HDL @ 0.75 Serum Cholesterol @ 3.3 I am wondering if I really need to be on 80mg of statins? Can I have roast turkey with all the trimmings or am I looking at a chili non-carne (which is pretty good) for X-Mas lunch! All feedback welcome.

Fibromyalgia and Naltrexone The FINAL Study
We are happy to see the announcement of the Danish trial "Fibromyalgia and Naltrexone The FINAL Study" which will look at Low Dose Naltrexone and how it may help fibromyalgia. It is still early but this study follows previous pilot studies by Jarred Younger on LDN when he was at Stanford. We still do

After Docetaxel..PSA increased from 0.149 to 0.192..Should I be concerned?
Just came back from the MO visit. My Dec 2019, PSA was 0.149 ( lowest ) and today it has gone up to 0.192. Finished my docetaxel ( 6 cycles) in Nov 2019. All other blood test results were good including Alk Phosphate which had come down to 58 ( lowest since my dx in Nov 2018). LDH of 207 which is also

Low dose Naltrexone
Hello, my question concerns low dose Naltrexone. Those that are on low dose Naltrexone, would you please share how fast it worked and how you titrated to the dose you are on? Any side effects noted? Anyone able to use this and eventually stop when the PMR went into remission? Thank you
