any experiences with kefir?
I looked it up and found it's high in lactose unless it contains
lactase
. So maybe that's another 'eating' mistake.

Visit with new Hem/Onc Dr went well!
I did get the results of the
lactase
dehydrogenase and was shocked that it is up to 728! Yikes! Anyway, back to the new Dr. He is going to arrange a Zoom visit with my MPN specialist, me and him so he can introduce himself. He said he has no problem working and communicating with my specialist!

Did you all have this blood test. I have looked at my blood tests for 2 weeks time and it is included prior to my appointment so I think my consultant is being thorough maybe. What reason would she do this test for? Could be due to persistent Leukocytosis as well. Remember I'm not diagnosed with anything

Lactase tablets
Hello folks, So I was just wondering if there's any difference in quality between different brands of
lactase
tablets or if they are all pretty much the same? I seem to have developed lactose intolerance - I excluded, then reintroduced and excluded again and it didn't leave much room for doubt.

What comes after FODMAP diet?
Then I bought some
lactase
and I had already started doing the FODMAP thing. There is manitol in it. That's off FODMAP diet. Why would they put that in something for breaking down foods correctly, when actually it makes it worse?

Seeking Lactose advice please
Do you have any recommendations for
lactase
enzymes, and do they work? Am I likely to meet resistance if I ask my GP to test for this? Thank you

Graves’. Carbimazole over corrected. Low T4 now. Is it ok to take a short break from Carbimazole before restarting lower dose?
And I’m lactose intolerant so it upsets my tummy badly too - I take
lactase
enzyme with it but it doesn’t always help. So I’d be happy to have a break from Carbim, even for a couple of days, since my hormones are low now.

Lactase Dehydogenase level high!
He tested for
lactase
dehydrogenase and in was 242. I just had it repeated and it is now 327. My platelets rose from 648 to 725, wbc went from 13 to 16. HCT went down a little bit from 48.3 to 47.5 which I think both are high for female. I am really bothered by the LDH level!

No link between milk and increased cholesterol according to new study of 2 million people.
The team of researchers took a genetic approach to milk consumption by looking at a variation in the
lactase
gene associated with digestion of milk sugars known as lactose.

Lactose in Levothyroxine and Lactase enzymes
Since Levothyroxine contains lactose which is a problem for many of us would it help to take a
Lactase
enzyme at the same time as our T4?

Enzyme Deficiency
Which means I have no enzyme's to properly digest carbohydrates, starch, table sugar, beans and
lactase
. This all makes sense given my symptoms. I have hypoglycemia every day in between meals and can't properly digest my food. The Illness can be hereditary or secondary to another illness.

Basic question re symptoms
I’m feeling rotten after a cheating apple crumble and custard (I took
lactase
because I’m dairy intolerant too) and symptoms cam3 in a rush of dizziness and diarrhoea (sorry!) 24 hours later ... ??!! Does anyone else cheat? I’m not formally diagnosed so occasionally I tell myself it’s ok.

Lactase tablets?
Morning all, What would happen if I took a
lactase
tablet but did not consume any lactose. Would there automatically be any side effects? Can you take too much
lactase
? How much is too much?

Digestive Enzymes
I have carried out some more research on line and it's pointing towards diet, which I had guessed anyway but also about Digestive Enzymes helping but they ideally would need to contain: Alpha-galactosidase, Amylase, Cellulase, Glucoamylase, Invertase,
Lactase
, Lipase, Malt diastase, Protease, Peptidase
