I had my first visit with my new local doctor. He is Associate Head of Stem Cell Transplant Dept with Ochsner in Louisiana. He does not treat any cancers other than blood. He listened and verbalized understanding that my previous Dr’s were not a fit for me. He reviewed my BMB from Vanderbilt and my labs from last November. He ordered labs- but the lab tech dropped the tube for the CBC. Oops! I have to run out and get it redrawn, tomorrow. I did get the results of the lactase dehydrogenase and was shocked that it is up to 728! Yikes!
Anyway, back to the new Dr. He is going to arrange a Zoom visit with my MPN specialist, me and him so he can introduce himself. He said he has no problem working and communicating with my specialist! What a breath of fresh air! I must admit I shed some tears of relief.
I am so grateful for this new Dr! Whew!
Thank you all for your support!

That’s really great! It feels so good finding a doctor who listens, understands, and takes action to help us in this strange world of blood cancer. I feel like I live on the moon dealing with this mutated gene. There’s probably a mutant hero out there! Oh yeah teenage mutant ninja turtles! Ha! Everything has a silver lining. We just have to keep researching, communicating, and advocating for ourselves and others! Keep on smiling and well wishes to you!🌈
Good luck on your blood redraw (is that a word?) You might consider repeating the LDH. I had one off the wall LDH, found out the blood was hemolyzed probably due to the tech shaking the tube to vigorously. The repeat was within normal limits. Good luck. Best to you.
