vencamil upped dosage

Hello I had a telephone appointment with the in-house pharmacist today regarding my results and upping my medication. The reason for this was because the doctor i had an appointment with was off sick. I told the pharmacist all the symptoms I was having, and with me having mcas, how it affects my metabolism and digestion, not going to the toilet (constipated). This is having a big effect on my gut issues and have an inflammatory response. She listened and said I would need to speak to a doctor. Anyway she phoned me back and said we are going to up them by 25mcg. So now on 75mcg.

I can only tolerate vencamil, so I have had a right carry on with the chemist, my doctors, phoning them to tell them to put on prescription vencamil brand only.

They put on Levothyroxine with no lactase in . Vencamil if possible.

My Chemist said we will give you them this time but next time must state vencamil only.

What a bloody carry on.

I’ve had a similar experience and understand how frustrating it can be.

My prescription now clearly states ‘X or Y only. Patient can only tolerate brands X and Y’

This is how a vencamil prescription should look like. Your GP needs to select it specifically from a list.

Written like this your pharmacy has no choice but to dispense it.
