Here's hoping
I can't wait to see my surgeon on Monday and hopefully put to bed the longggg wait to get my knees sorted out. Over three years ago I put off a knee replacement as I wanted to wait as I was still in my thirties but now possibly because of me delaying it my other knee is now causing as many if not more

Mental health, and physical health are intertwined
Medical staff, and society as a whole, can be very judgemental about anyone who carries any weight and have a tendency to attribute everything to that. Its also seen as a simplistic issue, which it patently is NOT. Would they refuse a knee replacement to someone who damaged their knee while rock climbing

KNEE SURGERY MUCH NEEDED....OR NOT?????
I finally seen my orthepedic doc, my scan revealed rough edges of bone, and alot of inflamation, and wear and tear. He says he can shave the rough edges of the bone down, and take out the lining of the knee, but its not guaranteed to make things better... Its keyhole surgery, at the moment my knee is

I feel dreadful!
Almost two years after moving 1500 miles, and having to find new doctors, two months ago I finally got into a rhematlogist. It is unbelievable that in the area of the US where I now live, there is only one within a 150 mile radius. Well what has happened is, he suggested that my INR should be reduced

WARNING - Grumpy woman in the house!
Today I am grumpy. I can't hide it, I'm snappy and not nice to be around. Even though I'm angry with RA, it's my family that are feeling the fallout. I know I'm being tough on myself but I hate not being able to be 'normal'. My boys would argue that I've never been 'normal' but you know what I mean

Rheumatology ... ... DIY?
The call came!! I could hardly believe it... my rheumatologist on the other end of my phone on a Monday afternoon. Do you suppose she’d got wind of the fact I might be considering a second opinion? Anyway up, she was ringing to update me on two main issues but had waited to see if the increase in

Today I am absolutely positive!
Well, what a turnround! Not sure whether to be shocked or whether I should actually have seen it coming. I suppose I just accept the inevitable as yet another unexpected change along the path of the Rheumatoid journey. I was diagnosed with sero-negative RA 23 years ago, aged 31; the Rheumatoid Factor

What do I do? Advice please.
Aaaaaargh how do I begin to tell friends & family that the RA has continued to progress & my chesty cough of the last 4 months is not just an infection although there is one there that 7 courses of antibiotics hasn't shifted, but rather a complication of RA. My poor Mum worries herself silly, my Dad

I had surgert on Nov.21st and it's been a month since surgery. I go to physical therapy three times a week. I get a great workout for my knee for one hour straight. I also do exercises at home, and now I am starting to really get into my home for Christmas, and been doing holiday baking, my endurance

Then about 7 months later she had a
knock
to the
knee
, then the pain came back. She had an x-ray and was told by the doctor in A&E that there was a hairline crack. We then went to the fracture clinic the next day to be told there was no crack!!
