has anyone suffering from r l s had problems after knee replacement
Thinking back I had a lot of pain and discomfort after both my knee replacements done separately. It took at least 9 months before they settled. Post op I got a very good knee bend and movement generally but I do remember the pain and discomfort which was pretty relentless. Nights were not good as I remember as well as in the day.
Also after a spinal op, my legs started the jerking movements which I had never had before so initially I found it rather frightening but that disappeared more or less with time and now I rarely get this sensation, thank goodness. will be one year in September since this operation.

I haven't had a knee replacement but my rls always becomes very accute when I get cellulitus in that leg. I also have an ulcer. Perhaps there is a connection with rls and the disturbing of nerves that occurs when other medical problems arise and/or operations are necessary.
Hello Sue
Are you having problems? I'm in line for knee replacements soon, so I'm grateful for your question and particularly interested in the answers...
I haven't had a knee replacement but I have had pain and an op in my right knee and the left is starting too. My RLS can be in one knee sometimes although generally its both legs.
I had a total knee replacement. I was given Morphine and Bingo..
problem that I had for 20 yrs was wiped out.
My knee had a horrible infection so I had to remove it for 10 weeks.
They kept me doped up and comfortable.
I didn't mind the pain, the being laid up long because it meant that
I wouldn't have jumpy legs.
I had that surgery about 6 months ago (final placement of the new knee)
and have been after that restful feeling in my legs, body
since then.
No doctor will prescribe more than 2.5 mg Vicodin, .125 of Mirplex.
I wish you good luck.
