Orthopaedic Operations with other complications including Restless legs.
Do you know of any facility where I could discuss my situation with someone knowledgeable about orthopaedic surgery, as I have several conditions. I have RLS, and also epilepsy, which I think might cause problems. I had a knee replacement but had a bout of kicking, ripping out the stitches. This caused

More meds
Had a partial knee replacement on 22nd Nov. I made sure to inform surgeon and Anaesthetist that I have SVT & AF and the meds I’m on, Bisoprolol & Flecainaide. To ensure the extra they’ll give me is compatible. The extras are now a blood thinner Eliquis and opiate Oxycodone. Well, how to know what’s

Mild PAF symptoms, should I bother?!
Ever since my first knee replacement was postponed due to the last minute discovery of my PAF most of the decisions have been left to me. The current situation 3 years down the line is that I seem to have an unusual form. It's like a timeclock . I get it every 4-6 days and it lasts almost exactly 48

Hip pain
I am being treated for fibromyalgia and prodromal RA. I have had hip pain that varies and I find it very hard to describe. It's always been bundled in with fibromyalgia and not looked at further. Today I asked gp if we can re think it to make sure we're not missing anything and have been referred to

A Sharp intake of Breath!!
I have just been booked in for a knee replacement (hence the sharp intake of breath heading - that's what people do when I tell them!!) as the consultant says I have arthritis and that is what is causing the pain on walking/standing and sleeping. Since this started getting painful back in July I have

Knee replacement
Thank you everyone for your experiences and good wishes. I feel more reassured now. Still terrified, but yes looking forward to being able to go up and down stairs again.

DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE COMPLAINTS PROCESS
Many of us are unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of innefficient or negligent behaviour on the part of our GPs and their practices. Unfortunately, we are so often reluctant to insist on better or to begin the official complaints process because we are afraid that the GP and the practice will

Do you have any advice about avoiding heated legs following an operation.
Needing advice about RLS (restless legs syndrome) and operations I had arthritis in a knee and needed a total knee replacement. Thinking of my RLS, I was concerned that I they might cause problems as they always to kick when they're hot. After the operation I'd need to keep my legs under control. I spoke

Keto diet for lipedema? NEW MEMBER as of Nov 1, 2019
I am interested in hearing if anyone has tried and found that the keto diet is helpful to lessen lipodema nd lymphodema symptoms. I feel, as in many illnesses, diet may play an important part in treatment. Have read many anecdotal stories about the keto diet being helpful but doctors seem to play down
