Heart muscle not working properly
I had an angiogram Monday and the doctor yold me my heart muscle is not working properly. To my understanding this is heart failure. Am I correct? I have also been told to 'get fitter' and he will see me in 3 months. The problem is I had two knee replacements (one which went badly wrong the second

Surgery with AF
Went in to have knee replacement surgery last week. Got to theatre and heart rate was 140bpm so op was postponed. Problem now is I have to get AF stable before they will do my knee but having had ablation and cardioversion in the past both only lasted 4 months before going back into AF. As waiting lists

Apixaban and knee replacement
Hi I’m due for a knee replacement in June. When I was first listed they mentioned they would consult with cardio. My pre op is only 3 days before the planned procedure does anyone know if they will stop Apixaban them or will I remain on it throughout. Don’t want to arrive for pre op and have procedure

Knee replacement
In the past year, I have gone from completely mobile to completely dependent on my walker. I have had bad knee pain, so I saw an orthopedic surgeon about knee replacement, but he said the arthritis in my knees did not warrant replacement yet. However I got to thinking if I were to get the replacement

WARFARIN INR AND SHOULDER INJECTIONS
G'day guys and dolls ....... well at long, long last I am to have my guided cortisone injection into my right shoulder on Friday 1 April. I am planning to stop Warfarin on Sunday night ( being the day of my last dose) in order to get my INR down to around 1.2 or 1.3 by the Friday. Based on my statistics

BB on the road
Ok lets get the tabs out of the way, Stilton 40mg Pred, also statins and blood thinners, done. Been noticing recently ( by the way I have flat foot ) which is on my left which is also the same leg as my total knee replacement. Apart from walking round looking like Michael Flattly ( river dance man)

Knee Revision Surgery
Hi everyone. I had total knee replacements about two and a half years ago and one has continued to have swelling and pain.it was initially put down to a rheumatoid flare but they’ve now taken X Rays and say that it looks like it’s come loose. They’re suggesting revision surgery which is more invasive

Hip and groin pain .
I started with left groin pain about 3 weeks ago . This sometimes goes around the outside of the hip . I saw a doctor ( not mine) and he thinks it is osteoarthritis. I have RA and OA and have had a knee replacement, same side , and a right elbow replacement. The doctor said he thought it was osteoarthritis

Knee Surgery
Thank you to everyone who replied to my inquiry about Knee surgery & pred. Nurse at Orthopedic office told me I would have to stop Pred. before surgery. I told her I could not suddenly stop pred, due to adrenal insufficiency that it would cause. It is frightening when medical personnel do not know

Help and encouragement needed
Hi, I’ve just completed week 3 and I’m really struggling. I’m not over weight so that is not an issue but about to turn 60 and my knee discomfort is getting worse. Am I causing unnecessary harm for the future ? or has any one managed to get through this? Don’t want to give up but don’t like the thought

Total knee replacement
Hi and good sunny morning to you all. 6 weeks ago I had a total knee replacement should have been a 3 day stay but I was in hospital for 3 weeks. I developed phumonia and a PE. I'm struggling to recover on top of that I've had no RA drugs for about 10 weeks and won't be allowed back on my biologic drug

Morning folks, recently diagnosed with osteoporosis. Had fun and games with meds due to a mix up at my local surgery. Had to keep chasing them for the prescription, took 2/3 weeks! Sold my beloved car as I'm unable to drive until after knee surgery, (still no date in sight) Felt the company took advantage

NHS Blood test frequency has been reduced, where can I get a private test to supplement my annual test.
I should be very grateful if you experienced and knowledgeable people could help me to source a private blood test for TSH T4 and T3 please. My GP used to do a TSH and T4 every 6 months but now will only do one annually. To source my meds I need a test every 6 months. I live in the South East and
