Knee Revision Surgery

Hi everyone. I had total knee replacements about two and a half years ago and one has continued to have swelling and pain.it was initially put down to a rheumatoid flare but they’ve now taken X Rays and say that it looks like it’s come loose. They’re suggesting revision surgery which is more invasive and I wondered if anyone had similar experience or knows of anyone who’s had revision surgery. I was scared at the first Op and this seems even more scary - even though the surgeons have been absolutely lovely and very reassuring! Any help gratefully received.

Don't compare my situation to yours as it might be completely different. I had my knee replaced and i told them it was not right and it turns out that it had torn and i had to have a revision and they stitched things back, but that wasn't the cause as they had put a straight joint in a bent leg and i had to have it completely replaced again. I would ask for a long leg x-ray before they do anything so they can be sure what action they will have to take.xxxxx

Hi, yes I had a knee revision in 2O19 after 4 years of having the block in due to sepsis in the knee due to a biological that left me with hardly any resistance to infection.IT is a bigger operation but well worth it. Good luck.
