Anyone had olio tibial band problems after tkr, I have also developed bursitis in my hip,beginning to wish I'd never had the knee done !

Hi, Sorry to hear this, your TKR doesn't seem to have been as successful as you'd have liked, or expected. What treatment has been suggested?

I'm going for an mri scan and then probably a steroid iinjection The knee is fantastic as far as flexing it etc ,I can bend it as well as my other one it's just awful pain going up and down stairs which seems to have spread to the hip just as if someone is sticking a knife in my buttock. (pardon my language!)All pales into insignificance compared to the poor folks in Ukraine though.Thanks for your response.

Ouch, that sounds painful, do hope the steroid injection helps until such time as the source can be found…and sorted.

Who diagnosed iliotibial band problems? Normally you would rest and take it easy also get physio. Have you talked to your surgeon?

My knee surgeon thinks that's what it may be and also hip bursitis, I'm due to have an mri I think that can confirm or not the bursitis side of things.Ive been researching the it band business which also seems a possibility,not sure whether to make an appointment with the physio whilst waiting .Have you experience of the condition?Would appreciate any advice.

Luckily I was OK after my op, but several people I know had problems. Hopefully the MRI will help as you need a diagnosis.
