AF Medications
I have had AF for a few months now, I have also attended A & E four times recently with palpations and chest pains. Each time they have given me either, sometimes both, potassium or magnesium intravenously. I have also had a kidney transplant (4 years ago). They cannot give me any more medication

Scottish Medicines appraisal of voclosporin
Do you live in Scotland? Do you have lupus nephritis or care for someone with lupus nephritis? The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) are currently conducting an appraisal to decide whether voclosporin, a new treatment for lupus nephritis, will be commissioned for use by the NHS in Scotland. LUPUS

Hi all, First time posting in this forum I have posted in the main BHF a few times. I'm currently waiting for an AF Ablation and recently had my preoperative assessment for it. The nurse kindly gave me a copy of my ECG and naturally I took to googling to try understand it ofcourse getting nowhere 😂

Desensitization for second transplant (cadaver )
Hi all Anyone who has experience with desensitization procedure for carrying out second kidney transplant? I want to know the process and expected results. My crossmatch came positive or weak positive 7 times and I want to consider desensitization procedure now.

Low kt/v score
Ok time for a 6 month update: So after 6 months of PD dialysis, my kt/v score from my 48 hour urine collection, PD sample, and blood test this week came back as 1.43. This was after they increased my volume to 2300ml per exchange, 4 exchanges a night over 10 hours. So I'm still flunking that test. At

when to start dialysis
My GFR just hit 15 and my nephrologist says I can start PD dialysis as soon as I want and it may improve the way I feel. Seems like a huge decision to make as I dont think I feel that bad but who knows. How did people decide when to start dialysis and do you feel better now that you are doing it.

Newly diagnosed- fusiform anuersym post kidney transplant
I am 36 and had a kidney transplant almost 1.5 years ago from polycystic kidney disease. I found out about a month ago I have a brain aneurysm. My uncle passed away from a ruptured brain aneurysm. I am not well researched in this, but I am trying to learn as much as I can so I can make wise decisions

The Queen is still gonna shine even in the rain
I think it is easy for me to be positive because I am not on dialysis. I think and hope a kidney donor is around the corner. I don't only hope for myself, but I wish more people would donate. I have to remember when I was healthy donating was not even on my radar and I remember one time one of my friends

Newly diagnosed; so scared, confused, and depressed
My mom died of diabetic complications/
kidney
failure
at the age of 76, so I'm naturally alert to anything involving my kidneys or A1C. My doctor seemed unconcerned, and so I'll admit that that I didn't make many changes except to drink more water.

Bladder & Urethra Issue
RP 2007 and EBRT 2009. I've had intermittent hematuria for many years and on 3 occasions blood clots have caused obstruction and inability to urinate. I've learned to self catheterize in these situations which has usually resolved the issue after a few days. This time it's more severe. Heavy bleeding

"Uremia or
Kidney
Failure
As many as 25% of people with chronic
kidney
disease have RLS. The exact cause of this is not known but may be related to co-existing anemia and iron deficiency as above. A loss of opioid receptors in the brain may also contribute to RLS in those with kidney disease."

I can't sleep feel like my heart is going to stop
It's one of those nights again. I feel pressure in my chest. I thought I was going to be able to sleep today but I guess not. Its frustrating because I was already falling asleep but I was awaken by a sudden jerk. Now every time I am falling asleep I get woken up by the sudden jerk that makes me feel

Help!
Feel like I’ve hit rock bottom again last few weeks. After eventually tapering off of Pred June last year, I believe I told you lovely people I started getting issues with my fingers , then wrists. So pretty evident the Pred was masking these pains ( well I am assuming that). I eventually returned to

Virtual support group for dialysis patient?
Hi I'm looking for a virtual support group for someone starting dialysis. The ones I know about either have mostly transplant recipients (I prefer to have people who are going through dialysis, or about to start), or the meeting is mostly hearing from a speaker rather than people sharing their experience
