Thank you for taking the time to help me. I have tried different things such as jelly, milk, or buttermilk. And have slippery elm bark lozenges. But once in awhile I simply cannot over come it. But will try the coke or pepsi. It's usually my fault as I've ate something right before bedtime and didn't prop myself up good enuff. I have noticed I can get by eating popcorn late...go figure. I just wanted a quick fix when I screwed up. The other night it was 2 hours before it went away. I never get heartburn anymore as I am on omeprazole.

Yes I know how you feel. Sometimes I get up and go downstairs to read to take my mind off of it. It wears me out the next day. Sucking ice cubes or iced water helps too.
