Question re:periods
Hello everyone, Up until I started Levo in May this year I was having regular periods every 4 weeks. I think it was my own cycle rather than just an hrt “withdrawal bleed” from my hrt, as the periods were very heavy each time and lasted about 7 days. I had spells of missing a couple of periods here

I have to go for a hysteroscopy the doctor thinks the thickening in my womb is lack of hormone or was due to the HRT I was taking previously, she also may do a biopsy to make sure all is fine. She has

Anti-coagulants after (Aortic) heart valve replacement surgery?
Just comparing experiences re anti-coagulants with others who have had (Aortic) heart valve replacement surgery. For those with a ‘mechanical’ replacement valve, it’s straightforward – i.e., a standard requirement to go on Warfarin (or equivalent?) for life. However, for those who opted for a ‘biological

Add back hrt with Zoladex
Hi all, just after a bit of support/others’ experiences… I had my 3rd Zoladex last week and over the last 2 weeks menopause symptoms (muscle/joint ache, severe fatigue, palpitations etc) have kicked me hard. Previously prescribed Tibolone but massive headaches middle of the night so I tried to persevere

Should my Thyroxine be put down?
Hello all, I've just had my latest results and my doctor has lowered my Thyroxine from 100mg to 75mg. Does that seem right? I feel very unwell and I'm putting on weight despite suffering from severe nausea, so I am definitely not over-eating. I'm 49-year-old woman who was diagnosed with an underachieve

HRT and magnesium supplements
Hi I’m new on here. I’m taking oestrogel 1-2 pumps in the morning, and one progesterone capsule at night. I’m increasingly frequently waking up in the night and I’m exhausted. Have tried other HRT types which made me feel mad and wild so I want to stick with this. Friends have recommended magnesium

zoladex side effects
hi all. So I’m lying here awake again so thought I’ll add a post. I’m on month 2 of zoladex with the 3rd injection happening in less than a couple of weeks. And I’m really not convinced by them! I don’t think I’m any better off! Ok so my deep pelvic pain and erratic bleeding has worn off, however it’

Hi all, just wanted to report that I'm having my hip replacement tomorrow. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas! Will report back as soon as I can.

Questions regarding an oestrogen cream (Ovestin) and its effect specifically on hypothyroidism but also in general

As our conversation progressed and I mentioned other niggles she offered a blood test there and then for rheumatoid arthritis, organised a pelvic ultrasound for tomorrow (I know, amazing!), a stool sample and a

Is there a dr at Ninewells who deals with APS?
In Dec 2020 I had what was thought to be a TIA. I mentioned to the stroke nurse that I had tested positive before for lupus anticoagulant and my rheumatologist at the time put me on aspirin. I was told to stop HRT in order to do this. It wasn’t checked again. The stroke nurse prescribed Clopidogrel

Am I Hypothyroid?
Hi, can anyone give me any feedback on the blood results I have received please? I am nearly 5 years into Surgical Menopause, Ovaries removed. More than likely I have Oestrogen Dominance which could be suppressing thyroid function as my Prolactin is currently very high (975miu/l) and soon to be investigated
