I'm about 4 weeks in to a dose increase of levo from 100 to 125mcg.
I'm familiar with a surge in 'wired and frantic' energy when I've reached about the 3 week point on a new higher dose in the past. And I had that a few days ago. It had settled.
However today I've been increasingly irritable throughout the day and right now I'm raving. Mood swing into bad temper. Which feels as if it's being 'pushed' or driven by the same kind of wired thyroxine energy.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm ruling out other causes such as female hormones, as nothing has changed nutrient/hrt regime-wise.
Just wondering if this is something people can experience.
Thanks very much.

Weeks 3 and 4 of an increase for me are very difficult. So much so that I have sometimes given up on an increase that I really did need and of course had to go through it all again. If you feel that you really needed the increase then hang in there for another few weeks.
Yes, I had a similar thing when I increased from 100mcg to 125mcg levo. I felt this irrational internal rage and erratic moods. It did finally settle but levo only didn't work out for me. I discovered I couldn't convert levo very well and ended up with free T3 at the bottom or below range. I now take levo with T3.
'Irrational internal rage' - that's a great description thank you! Very helpful and reassuring to know others experienced similar and that it eventually went away.I'll be keeping an eye on my ft3 - the last blood test seemed to suggest I was converting better...but who knows in this thyroid balancing game!
Thanks for your reply and I hope the t3 helped you.
I am intolerant to thyroid drugs; I get the same side effects as you. The doctor has taken me off the drug for two months because of the side effects. Fortunately, I feel great off the drug. And I was only taking 25 mcg and had side effects. Some days I felt like I was going to jump out of my body. Horrible!
Contact your doctor. The meds are building/up in your system and causing your problems. The dosage may have to be lowered.
