Mirena IUD Headaches

hey everyone,

hope you’re all doing ok.

Im nearly 4 weeks post laparoscopy and mirena coil fitment. Im having to take painkillers nearly everyday at work for intense pressure headaches. So far the coil is working and i haven’t had a period (which is great) and would be a shame to have it removed because i want to give it a good try.

Has anyone else experienced headaches and did it stop?

Im seeing my gp in 2.5 weeks for a coil check anyway, im just worried she will say have it removed 😄

I am sorry your not having a good time with the coil, but I'm glad it's been stopping your periods.

Yeah I been experiencing the same frequently too, for me it's mostly tension headaches that last up to a week usually around and/during my period. (Yes I do have a much lighter version of my period on the coil too).

Hi!

Yes its so frustrating that you help one thing and something else pops up, its really disheartening. Im really going to try and wait t out for the recommended 3 months and see if things settle 😩
