How Mercury can affect the thyroid.
Mercury is chemically similar to
iodine
and therefore "makes it's way" to the thyroid where it causes toxicity. And one of the most probably causes of exposure to Mercury is in teeth filling amalgams.

Normal labs , Normal antibodies but uptake thyroid scan was elevated
I asked my GP for me to have an thyroid
iodine
uptake scan and it showed it was overactive . However this happened to a lesser degree in 2018 . I honestly thought I was going crazy this time . Anyways has anyone had the same symptoms despite Normal blood work .

Untreated hyper- A&E?
I’m currently waiting to be referred for radioactive
iodine
(I’m not sure how long it will take), but my symptoms have become so severe I’m wondering if I should go to A&E.

Buprenophine success!
I am so grateful to Shumbah for posting and sharing her experience and success with Buprenorphine. I was able to get it prescribed from a neurologist here in Japan yesterday (0.2 grams as a suppository) and I tried it for the first time ( 1 x 0.2 mg suppository) last night. I slept for almost 10 hours

Just had the worst experience
So went and saw gynaecologist today as been getting bad pain in right side for months now due to an endometrioma. The lady I saw did not seem to specialise in the condition and actually stated that she was a registrar. Said that although it is causing me a lot of pain it is quite small at just over

14yr old - Don't think all the necessary blood tests have been carried out
But, I want to know what others' thoughts are on the results and whether I ought to pursue matters further, in relation to possible thyroid issues (maybe even due to
iodine
deficiency, as my daughter has a poor diet). Thank you.

Yellow Mucus Following Circumcision
I had a circumcision 17 days ago; quite a nasty one as i had left it 25 years (I'm 51) and 90% of the foreskin was stuck to the head and needed to be separated. The 1st few days were fairly pain free, but I've had some discomfort following this and occasionally pain levels go through the roof for a

Party Girls don't get hurt...
You could often see Party Girl out... Well, pretty much any night of the week. Wednesdays were usually her favourite. Peeling away from her equally drunk friends wearing more makeup than clothes, it would be easy to look at Party Girl and think 'Ugh, what a slag'. She wasn't a slag though. Not by any

Need some knowledge please!
So I may have endometriosis, I just got back from a&e after calling 111 from the amount of pain I’ve been in. Been sent home with a box of codeine and told it’s probably my hormones and if I have endometriosis it’ll also be that. However I still don’t know the root problem for it all. I’m grateful for

Thyroid function after RAI
I've read comments here from people who don't believe their thyroid was "dead" for some years after RAI. So far, online and in the books I'm reading, I'm not able to find a whole lot of info on this. Does anyone know how a person would find out if the symptoms they suddenly began having post RAI were

Gut problems and lethargy.
I’ve had thyroid problems for over 20 years now. Initially I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, by my G.P. who arranged an appointment with endocrinologist. I wasn’t given much information at the time and was given the advice that having RAI treatment was my best option as he told me it was easier to
