Yellow Mucus Following Circumcision

I had a circumcision 17 days ago; quite a nasty one as i had left it 25 years (I'm 51) and 90% of the foreskin was stuck to the head and needed to be separated.

The 1st few days were fairly pain free, but I've had some discomfort following this and occasionally pain levels go through the roof for a few minutes before settling down. I went back to the clinic and they gave me codeine for the pain and said there was no infection, but gave me some antibiotics anyway.

The thing I'm struggling with is yellow mucus which continuously covers the glands, dries out and sticks the head to my underwear and the already raw skin gets further damaged as I pull it off.

Any tips to help the raw skin heal or how to stop this sticky gunk from forming?

You probably need to use some low adherence dressing. If you get 5cm by 5cm squares and use Micropore tape you could wrap your penis lightly like a tube.
