So went and saw gynaecologist today as been getting bad pain in right side for months now due to an endometrioma. The lady I saw did not seem to specialise in the condition and actually stated that she was a registrar.
Said that although it is causing me a lot of pain it is quite small at just over 3cm and so wants me to have another scan (although I have already had 2 since January) and told me to give up on IVF if periods are so bad and to have coil fitted.
I was in floods of tears in the room. I have stage 4 endo and have been under a endo clinic in London but they discharged me last year after I had a surgery and so GP referred me to normal gynae centre.
Is my GP able to refer me back to endo clinic in London (I dont live in this area, the hospital prev referred me there after I was diagnosed but the lady I saw today said she saw no need for me to go back).
Feel so deflated and alone tbh. Been off work last 3 weeks as pain has been so bad and periods have been horrific last few months (so heavy I have leaked through my clothes).
I am physically and mentally exhausted. I just want the daily pain to stop and GP wont give me anything stronger than codeine.

my cyst was only 2cm, but they found endo everywhere, bladder, bowel. Ask for another specialist straight away, especially if you are in pain. I gave up on pain killers because they made my bowel more painful. I use the pill Visanne, which has been the only medicine to reduce my pain and control the endo, I have to get it overseas but it has really helped me. I am not a fan of the coil. good luck!
Definitely go back to GP and ask for referral back to the other place. I can’t understand some doctors at times. Can you afford an initial private consultation? They can put you on NHS list after if need be.
Ask GP about other pain med, go with someone for back up if you can.
Thanks so much. Feeling a bit better now that I've had a few cups of tea haha. Just feel like I have to constantly put up a fight to be listened too and get the right treatment (took me 7 years to get diagnosed after years of horrible pain). Sometimes I just feel as though I'm fighting a losing battle...
It is a battle, exhausting, where it shouldn’t be and wastes so much money.
Maybe there’s a particular GP that’s more helpful than others. Ask for a phone call, might be easier than face to face. Still easy to forget, notes can help sometimes.
