Tapioca in gluten free products/reduces iodine absorption?
On researching tapioca, seems it’s moved up the at risk list for latex allergy folk now, and discovered this about
iodine
. I’ve had
iodine
deficiency in past, so seems a bit ironic to be eating gluten free to help my thyroid, then eating a lot of tapioca into the bargain!

Advice on my non-existent TSH Please
I had radio
iodine
treatment 5 years ago after having Graves. I am on 75 and 100 Levothyroxine on alternate days (a low dose I know). I was given additional T3 med lythothyronine 18 months ago, 5 mg twice daily which improved my quality of life no end.

warning re gastroscopy and gastrografin for ME/CFS sufferers . Plus neuropathy ?
You can get a ‘rare’ delayed reaction to Gastrografin, the
iodine
contrast medium. So that’s another thing to add to the long list of medicines I can’t tolerate. Then I went for the gastroscopy as my stomach seemed to be getting more swollen (maybe related to the gastrografin ? ) It was awful.

overwork factor?
theories i've heard that make sense to me include: stress, glyphosate,
iodine
, hormones in meat... and it occurs to me that maybe we are a bunch of overworkers.

Multinodular goitre surgery
I have gone through various natural remedies and nutrition work in the past and now started
iodine
supplementing but it is likely too late at this stage. Has anyone shrunk a huge goitre?

Daily multivitamins do not help people live longer, major study finds
[/i] I think we'd also advocate for caution about
iodine
being very commonly included. (The article obviously can't include everything!)

Hi I’m Pippa 51yrs old & was wandering if anybody has had any issues with their kidneys following radioactive
iodine
treatment for Graves’ disease or have ever had similar blood results to mine? Well I’m in a bit of a pickle & just come out of hospital because of the above!

Chlorella
Chlorella also may contain
iodine
which is also not recommended. I'm considering what to do and really reaching out here to the forum to see if anyone has any experience with any of the above (haemorrhoids/chlorella or kinesiology as a method).

Surgery? - Graves disease and thyroid nodule
Due to previous eye disease I have been advised i cannot have radioactive
iodine
, the nodule needs to be removed regardless (a-typical) and I have been told I cannot have a partial thyroid removal due to the risks of later replases and scar tissue from multiple operations.
