High TSH (which keeps rising over the years) and consistently high T4 for 7 years with no major symptoms.
I did also check my
iodine
levels and it was very low. I started taking sea kelp about a year ago and raised my
iodine
level a good amount, but the TSH has still risen after my blood test last week. Do you know what could be going on here?

Association between different water iodine exposures & thyroid cancer: A retrospective study of high water iodine areas in China 2009-20
In areas where water
iodine
decreased to adequate
iodine
levels, there was a strong negative correlation between the decreased level of water
iodine
and the incidence of thyroid cancer.

Carbimazole for life???
She stated it would be the better option to have the radio
iodine
and possibly Levothyroxine as it was a “safer” medication. I told her I’d discuss it with the Consultant when I see him in 3 months.

Hyperthyroidism symptoms
Since having several weeks
iodine
treatment on leg ulcer I started having a buzzing feeling in chest and sometimes thighs. Worse after eating. Making me feel very anxious. Gp did blood test for TSH level but came back normal (1.22). Have lost weight and wakes me at night too.

Is it possible to get rid of excess iodine in my body?
High
iodine
in my my body was caused by a drug, namely Amiodarone prescribed for afib. Stopped taking this drug on 10 August. This drug is toxic due to very high
iodine
content that stays in the body for a very long time (half life).

The Iodine Debate
Another book I got,
Iodine
and Why You Need It by David Brownstein seems to show the opposite. I’m sure little
iodine
might work for some and a lot more
iodine
might work for other but curious on others thoughts. Thanks

GP will only test TSH
Hi everyone, found this forum after leaving GP in tears and realising I need to try find information for myself.I was treated for an overactive thyroid 20 years ago with radioactive
iodine
and historically managed symptoms with a really understanding GP who's since left.

Help/advice urgently needed please...dosage increase or not
Consequently, a very high
iodine
content remains in the body for up to 6months or beyond and can push thyroid numbers up or down via conversion process so I had to be cautious with levo increase.

thyroid?cortisol?
the praticionner who order it told me that my adrenals were suffuring too much about this situation and that I should have high reverse t3 (I’m waiting for the result) and adviced me to take adrenals glandular and replace levothyrox by
iodine
. I’m currently taking 50ug of levothyroxine.

upping meds in pregnancy plus vitimins.
Currently only taking the following vits, as I understand pregnancy vitimins contain too many things that hypothyroid people shouldn’t have like
iodine
and are also apparently not that effective anyway in multi vit form. 10ug vit D drops 210mcg ferrous fumerate every other day (as apparently aids

Surgery or not.
The 2 being radioactive
iodine
and surgery. Her opinion being surgery was the best one for my age(48) even with the risks and even with having to take a pill then forever. I was diagnosed with Graves a year ago and hospitalised with symptoms.

🤷🏻♀️ Sudden jump up in T4
Morning all 😉 I have Hashimoto’s and have had radio active
iodine
treatment over 16 years ago so have been on Levothyroxine since. I’m familiar with all the testing and get regularly tested by my GP. I also private test occasionally to check my T3 as my local area do not test that on the NHS.

Low fT4, but midrange fT3. Feeling cold, brain fog.
I read that fT4 low and fT3 midrange could mean to be
iodine
deficient. Currently, I do not take any Thyroxine, and have not before. Which way should I go? Take
iodine
, take T4 or T4/T3, a combination of these, or something different? Any ideas are welcome.

Unfortunately because I am allergic to
Iodine
, I was unable to have it in the medium for the CT Scans and therefore the surgeon won’t know if I’ll need to have the lobe or the whole lung removed until he gets inside it.

Blood results within range. Is this a problem?
[i]After being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation five years ago and an ambiguous NHS blood test showing possible subclinical hypothyroid symptoms I decided, as my diet is mostly plant based, to take a vegan multivitamin/mineral including
iodine
.

Had anyone tried LDN?
I'm HypoThyroid and not receiving any treatment for that due to the fact I supplemented with
iodine
. Hence, the GP wants to wait six months to see if it resolves itself, even though I've been subclinical for a couple of years.

Levothyroxine dose ? Up or down ?
Diagnosed Graves’ disease had Radioactive
Iodine
treatment 2012 then hypothyroidism kicked in . ( I’ve tried going private for T3 and/or T3/T4 combination but that meant long journeys and I never quite knew if I was doing the right thing as my GP wasn’t really with me on this and didn’t understand )
