CT Thorax scan with iodine contrast
Hi does anyone know if it’s safe to have an
iodine
contrast for a CT thorax scan with Hashimotos, I’m confused if it’s good or bad with Hashimotos as I’m worried it might make my heart race.

Low Blood Pressure.
I’m also taking a few drops of
iodine
daily the last while. I take B12 and Vitamin D. plus about a year ago we started me on the hormone 5 mg. of DHEA /daily to help with my under-active adrenals. At first I was doing so good on the DHEA. No low blood pressure and hardly any A-Fib episodes.

Graves and Carbimazole update
Hello again! I thought I would post an update to share my experience so far with Graves and pose a couple of questions. I had positive Graves antibodies result in September 2023 / low TSH but T3 T4 in range. Radioiodine scan showed increased uptake / hyperthyroidism. Started Carbimazole 5mg per

T3 Trial continued
Medichecks 20 March 2024 History:
Hypothyroid (after RAI in c2004)
Spent 2023 improving folate, B12, Vit D although ferritin still poor. Came off PPIs and now take Gaviscon twice daily. Gastritis issues ongoing though. Officially a poor converter (dud DIO2) so really wanted to try T3 Gluten

Cruciferous veggies and thyroid - yay or neh?
In this study involving the University of California, researchers concluded that though collard greens, Brussels sprouts, and some Russian kale (Brassica napus) contain enough goitrogenic compounds to potentially decrease
iodine
uptake, that’s not true for all cruciferous vegetables.

Endo finally tested FT3! Thoughts?
At my last endo appt early Dec, the consultant kept his same stance that my blood tests were all in range and my symptoms were all due to perimenopause. He said there was slight room for a small increase in levothyroxine so ive gone from 125x5/100x2 to 125x6 /100x1 and told me to speak to my gp and

The addition of
iodine
to table salt and thiamine and riboflavin to breakfast cereal are examples of effort to eradicate terrible decease with mandatory additions. However it was noted that it is not necessary when treating scurvy for the patient to eat a barrel of apples.

The ongoing battle to be well
Since I had Graves diagnosed years ago have struggled with levothyroxine alone..had RAI ...although my previous doctor gave me a private prescription for Thybon Henning Liothyronine. Which I have got - but due to house move changed doctors..present one said it would not help so I did not take it!!

iodine and thyroid
My doctor told me to stop taking the supplement or any supplement with
iodine
and redo the blood work in two months. She said American diet has plenty of
iodine
in it.

Urgent help please - feeling total despair - think I'm going crazy after stopping and restarting levothyroxine - blood results included
Hi, This won't be the full story as I don't want to to make the post too long and hard/annoying to read. It's already going to be too long. RAI for Graves around 11 years ago. Never felt good on T4 since. Normal dose around 100 micrograms plus around 12.5 micrograms a couple of times a week. Mostly stopped

What to ask Endo?
Hi all Sorry this is quite long. I'm looking for some advice about next steps and what to ask my Endo when I see him next week. Background: I spoke to my GP in March 22 because I was exhausted and anxious and people I barely knew were commenting how awful I looked! She ordered a load of tests which

Your thoughts please
I was diagnosed with bilateral toxic nodules causing hyperthyroidism in Sept 22. I responded well to treatment and now take 5mg Carbimazole every other day. My endo is now pushing for definitive treatment. RAI is not an option for me and stopping meds clearly won’t work. Removing an otherwise healthy

Hello all, I am UK based, 65, with RLS from hell, night and often day, which I’m sure is familiar to most! I’m currently on 300mg Pregabalin, which I take at night, but which is becoming less and less effective. Like many, I’ve put on masses of weight since taking it, so am not willing to raise the
