Hi, after OH had high Tsh Levels a couple of weeks a go (radioactive iodine 14 tears a go) gp prescribed higher dose of thyroxine - now 175Results from medicheck above

Low vit d - would this affect the thyroxine absorption? If he sorts that would it then be sensible to reduce the thyroxine back down?

Thank you

What time of day did he take this test? Highest TSH is at or before 9am.

Did he take his Levo before the test or allow 24 hours between last dose of Levo & blood test as recommended?

His FT3 is at a good level - 76% of range.

Vitamin D level doesn't affect absorption of Levo but it will affect how his body is able to use his thyroid hormone. He needs to supplement it though to raise it to a more optimal level.

We need OPTIMAL vitamin levels to be able to use our thyroid hormone well.

Was there a ferritin result?

Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Many members like the ‘Better You’ range of mouth sprays that contain both bit D & K2. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150.grassrootshealth.net/projec...

His B12 is too low. Suggest he starts a good methyl B complex to help keep all the B's in balance.
