Latest Iron Panel Results - advice
Dear all, I’d be really grateful if anyone who knows about this could advise on my iron panel tests above? Good news is my ferritin has gone up from 65 through 85 to 105 and still taking it (not that it’s made any difference so far!). Thank you so much. X

Iron Deficiency
Are many people diagnosed with PV Iron deficient at the time of diagnosis? I’ve read on the internet that almost everyone with PV is iron deficient at time of diagnosis (hence the low ferritin) and that phlebotomy makes the iron deficiency worse. My heam told me I was iron deficient before even starting

Antihistamine and probiotics
I have had long covid for 16 months now, and in the absence of any treatments on the horizon am thinking of trying antihistamine tablets and/or probiotic supplements. My RLS is currently much more controlled than it was, after iron infusion and am taking Gabapentin 400 mg- though insomnia still bad

which way to go (severe RLS)
Dear members, I am here trying to help my mother, whose RLS is poorly controlled these days. Just some background info: in 2021 she was put on Pramipexole, first just 0.125 mg was controlling her symptoms well, but it only lasted for half a year maybe. So her current dose is 0.375, which she splits

Taking Ferrous Sulphate Exhausts Me, Any Alternatives?
Hi All, In February 2023 I requested a blood test from my GP as I felt generally awful. I had muscle and joint pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, irritability, hair loss, overall skin sensitivity and moderate acne that scarred. I was also losing my evenings as my body was so tired, I’d nap for hours

My anxiety is stopping me from doing something that will help me. How do I power on through this?
I have chronically low iron, my Dr has prescribed a hormonal pill and an iron transfusion. Two things that terrify me for different reasons. I want to be able to go with the flow, but I can’t. I’ve asked about alternatives, this is my only option left. I’ve used my alternatives already. I am very much

Getting there, but slowly
More blood tests back now but still don't have all the figures. Serum immunoglobulins all normal Coeliac screen - negative Ferritin 197 (range 13-150) Transferrin saturation 38% (15-45) He's not happy about this even though it's "normal" Homocysteine - normal IFA - still negative Gastric parietal antibodies

Boron, an interesting article about supplement for T3 increase
Found this article which I found interesting as a possible supplement to assist with T3 may consider after next blood test if no improvement. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4712861/?fbclid=IwAR3dMJ-9rLLZ47g1qBU4LbMViJROk8gIbRNhijGMMW3giwHjVbsY06Huppk
