Hello again lovely people,I have had my thyroid and iron bloods taken at 10.am this morning, 17th July, now problem is as in the past, I will call in a few days for my results, I presume the receptionist will say ( all is normal) goodbye

Now can I ask for my blood results (print out)so I can pass on to you experts?

Thanks Bill

Bill, this morning I phoned my surgery and verbally asked for a hardcopy/printout of all my blood tests performed at the same surgery on 11 July 2023.

I was told by the clerk I spoke to that she would refer it to my GP and they would let me know if it was OK.

WAITING !!!

John

If you cannot access the results via an online system then request a printout.

Do not take "No" for an answer!

Yes you can ask the receptionist for a printed copy of your results. In my surgery, and I think it's common, the receptionist must ask the doctor for permission to release them to the patient. You are legally entitled to your results so you should get them within a day or two unless your surgery is being particularly difficult. Some insist on a Subject Access Request but it really shouldn't come to this, verbally requesting the results is basically a SAR just done verbally rather than written.

When you have the results you can pop them in a post on here for interpretation.

Iron tests need a 12 hour fast (water allowed) so presumably you did this as you also had a thyroid test and not eating before a thyroid test is suggested here.

Hi Seaside Susie,

Re your last para. I would think my bloods results will only show a full range of bloods ( nothing Thyroid specific ) as the tests were arranged in the context of a suspected neurology specific event.

My surgery is the same type that Tracy99 describes 😂😂😂
