Children’s flu vaccine and contact as immunosuppressed
My daughter is about to start babysitting and the the boys she will look after are due to have their flu vaccines at school. I have been on Benepali for a year and therefore classed as “ immunosuppressed”. I had my flu jab 3 weeks ago. Will this pose a problem?

Infusion completed
Hi all, finally completed my Rituximab/Truxima infusions, I should have had my 2nd infusion 2 weeks ago but sadly our niece passed away so we had her funeral to go to, she was only 37, it certainly makes you think of your own motality, I'll do my best to be as cheerful as her. It turned out I had a water

Shingles vaccine?
I am about to start on Methotrexate next week , starting on a low dose. I take Sulfasalazine but it has stopped working so well so I will be taking them both and working up the dosage of Methotrexate. My Consultant asked if I’d had the Shingles jab as I should do. She told me 2 yrs ago not to have it

stopping Ibrutinib
I had to stop Ibrutinib for 7 days prior to an operation to remove a cancer tumor from my bladder and another 7 days after the surgery. Also, in 3 week time I am to start a once a week (for 6 weeks) infusion of BCG directly into my Bladder. BCG is a weakened form of Tuberculosis. This tricks the body

New Diagnosis
My husband had a DAT Scan and we were told to wait for the results for 10 days . On day 11 we hadn’t heared anything , once during this process results had gone to the Drs and not us . Last week I took him for a flu jab and asked if by chance they knew anything ? The receptionist told me ‘yes the result

Adrenal Insufficiency update
Hello everyone Just thought I'd update you on my Rheumy appointment today and I could really do with your thoughts about it. Expect the unexpected from the NHS as Whisperit wrote so well!. Had such a surprise to be seeing a different Consuktant as my usual one has decided to have Tuesday's off!. Nice

Ultrasound Results... what's going on?
Hey friends, Had the US today. Nurse practitioner called me late in the day with findings. Compared to my last US taken 4 months ago they found nothing different. She said everything looked the same. I wish I could feel good about this, I mean thank goodness there are no masses, or tumors etc. but,

2 steps forward 3 steps back
Thanks to the very helpful posts on this site (and a great GP) I now have a much better understanding of pmr, pred, tapering and the like. Knowledge I would have gladly forsaken had the need not arisen. Have had a couple of blips on the way down but currently comfortable on 10mg and planning the next

Re-arrange docs appointment
So I wrote in here last week that I was worried about going to see my lovely doctor on Friday about a butt load of blood tests, urine sample and a three month pain diary. I had my flu jab with Mum before and heard some gentlmen across the way complaining they were over half an hour late, so I went up

Flu shot has live virus?
According to google the flu shot does contain a weakened dose of the flu virus. I’m still not sure but your replies have helped me. Thank you!

Amiodarone and shingles vaccination
I had the flu vaccination and shingles vaccination 2 weeks ago just before coming to America to see some of my children. I had an ablation at the beginning of September which led to a chest infection. A week ago I started feeling a bit below par. Have some spots on my forehead and in my hair and stabbing

Flu vaccine shortage
I was booked to have my flu jab at my GP this week but the appointment was cancelled due to shortage of vaccine. Despite being 'vulnerable' as I have Lupus and renal transplant this made no difference. The appointment has been re-booked towards the end of November, but there's no guarantee. I have

Yikes! What in the world have I done?
I went to my local surgery this morning as I heard they were having a Flu Jab Clinic... I went thinking I'd ask questions and "maybe" consider getting one... If I did get it, it would be my FIRST EVER flu jab!!!! After speaking to the Doctor who said, "Yes, your conditions do not exclude you." (

Thyrovanz
I changed to Thyrovanz about May this year because unable to get Westhroid. Had tried Thyrogold for a couple of month's who's advice was that 325 mg would be equal to my 3 grains of Westhroid. I then bought Thyrovanz as it was available in more dose strengths & settled on 300mg where I felt well

Flu jab
I’m very confused about the flu jab for the over 75’s? I’m going to ask today which one I will be getting as I’m 75 on the 29th of this month. As my present treatment isn’t working I’ve been in a persistent flare for months, the depo steroid jab didn’t work either and I’m not seeing my consultant till
