Apologies, still not clear. Not PA but referring to 'functional B12 deficiency' only.
If a person is supplementing with B complex and B12 sublingually for a long time (and no renal problems) and undertakes an MMA test at this time, will the MMA be high, low, or normal, if there is 'functional B12 deficiency' ? Kind regards, G

Vitamin Blood test
Hi guys, so I have my vitamin results back after being advised those with an underactive thyroid should get them tested Serum Folate 3.5 ng/ml [> 3.9] Serum Vitamin B12 540 ng/l [197-771] Vitamin D 16 nmol/L [> 51] They want to repeat the Folate test, but the vitamin D even though it's low says abnormal

How long should I go off iron supplements before testing?
Hi I’ve been on 3 prescription iron supplements a day since January and am having my iron, ferritin, and cbc tested on Friday. How long should I go off my iron supplements to get an accurate reading? Thanks so much

Please review my blood results
Hi, please review my bloods and advise. My TPA antibodies have increased since my last bloods in March. I am under an endocrinologist who said that there is nothing that can be done to reduce high antibodies. I am due to start IVF in four weeks and I am worried it will fail due to high antibodies.

I get anxiety spike whenever I miss out on my daily dose of 500 mcg b12 supplement. Has anyone else experienced any mental problems similar to mine? Thanks PS- I have been taking b12 supplements for the last 3 weeks after doing my own diagnosis.

Drs not taking ferritin seriously
My now retired neurologist was adament on treating my very low ferritin. For reference it was 7. Diet was not working. He gave me an iron infusion (he knew iron pills could have awful side effects). Then he retired & I changed neurologists. I never knew whether my ferritin got back to normal, nor why

Seek detailed B12 article to give to GP for education
I'm looking for a good technical guide on diagnosing and managing B12 deficiency to give my GP. I want him to be better informed on managing my case which is complicated by high levels of methylmalonic acid. The PASOC guides are not technical enough for this particular purpose. The best I found is

Is rash linked to B12 deficiency?
Diagnosed with B12 deficiency in 2018 also Vitamin D 10 years ago. No B12 injections since 03/20 given tablets by GP the tablets caused whole body pain, so I threw them away. I'm now covered in a rash which is burning and itching from my scalp to my waist. Tried to control B12 by diet. Any ideas?
