Co-morbidities with B12D/PA
Did anyone get any strange or unusual comorbidities around the time of their B12 deficiency or PA diagnosis? I just spoke with the hospital concerning a check-up on my parotid gland - a pleomorphic adenoma I had removed in 2020 along with a co-occurring thyroid nodule removal. They state that they

iron DROPPED on iron supplementation
Hi everyone, back in September I did a full iron panel as I suspected my iron was causing issues with raising my armour doses. After receiving my results I posted them here and had some great advice from human bean and started supplementing with ferrousgluconate 3 x daily with vit c. I also increased

Iron bisglycinate with vitamin b12….
I bought the iron from Thorne but when it arrived I saw that each capsule has 300 mcg of vitamin b12. If I take 75 mg of iron, that will be 900 mcg of the b vitamin. Does anyone know if that is likely to keep me awake or otherwise make it harder to fall asleep? Thank you to anyone who answers!

Advice on my blood test results, please.

Ferritin level is lower
My blood results are now TSATs 26 and Ferritin is 95. However in August my TSATs were 29 and Ferritin 217. I am still taking iron alternate days with vitamin c. Can anyone advise how I can improve my ferritin levels please? Also why would ferritin have reduced so much? Thankyou

B12 Reading
I found a couple of interesting articles about B12 deficiency https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/vitamins/vitamin-B12 This article talks about a study the US Department of Agriculture undertook which says as many as two fifths of the US population may be B12 deficient. https://www.legistorm.com/stormfeed

The Human Serum Metabolome of Vitamin B-12 Deficiency and Repletion, and Associations with Neurological Function in Elderly Adults
Just came across this paper from a few years ago. Thought it interesting as, so often, B12 seems to be though of as a one-trick pony - affecting erythropoiesis and nothing else. The occasional use of methylmalonic acid and homocysteine as additional tests. And that's your lot, folks. In my

b12 advice please
Ranges for b12 in my area are 180 to 2000ngl Stop the thyroid madness say that serum b12 should be in the upper quarter of any range for health of thyroid along with optimum ferritin folate and d3. I have been concentrating on trying to get all the levels to optimum. I believe that my b12 has been low

Can anyone recommend a good private pernicious anemia doctor anywhere in Scotland? Two NHS GPs ignored my symptoms they don't listen
Hello, I am desperately looking for a doctor who is competent about vitamin B12 deficiency and/or pernicious anemia. I am positive to gastric parietal cell antibodies, my B12 levels are 444 (should be between 200-883) so nobody takes me seriously because it's not low. GPs won't even consider injections

Testing coming up
I read this helpful info on a forum post here from the admin: “Taking supplements that contain B12 will affect any tests ordered by your doctor to assess your B12 status. You should not take any supplement with B12 before having your B12 assessed (including MMA/homocysteine/Active B12). For testing

Perspective: The High-Folate–Low-Vitamin B-12 Interaction Is a Novel Cause of Vitamin B-12 Depletion with a Specific Etiology—A Hypothesis
Note: This paper is presented by its own authors as a hypothesis rather than a wholly proved and accepted theory. However, excess folic acid has been identified as an issue many times. Typically, a GP prescribes 5 milligram doses, every day, and the patient continues taking that indefinitely

Iron Levels
I am on a reduction program for pramipexole, and it’s going really well. I’m taking gentle iron every other night. I also have some codeine tablets and I take one at bedtime. However I had surgery about eight weeks ago. I had my second full iron panel blood test about four weeks ago. My ferritin levels
