Supplements and exercise
Hi and thanks to all who responded to my first ever anywhere post yesterday. One recurring theme in your replies seems to be that I need to think about supplements whilst receiving injections for B12 deficiency. I had heard some mention of iron, potassium and folic acid, but I'm not sure if the requirement

Vitamin d level
I’m gutted, I was on 10000iu of vitamin d3, vitamin k2 and magnesium as was vitamin d deficient back in 2016.. my levels reached 183nmol in Feb this year so I reduced to maintenance level of 5000iu and I’ve just done a test and it’s dropped to 105nmol.. I’m going to have to go back to 10000iu to get

Lab Results - Iron and Thyroid
Hi. I recently had my iron levels checked. It's quite confusing, I am wondering if I should maintain my iron supplementation dose or decrease it. July 16, 2019 Ferritin N/A (yes, they did not run this) Serum Iron 9.9 (10.6-33.8) Transferrin 2.51 (2.00-3.30) Saturation 0.16 (0.13-0.50) In Summer 2018

Does taking oral B12 bias a B12 test high for someone with PA?
Maybe a dumb question but does taking oral B12 bias a B12 test high for someone with PA? My doc has asked me to try oral B12 prior to my next re-test to "see if it works". She said that sometimes diet absorption isn't enough for some people and supplements help. She's talking B12D in general, not PA

IF Negative after cutting alcohol, B12 descending?
I just put most of this in my profile for convenience, but thought I'd post to ask a couple questions. Short version of next two paragraphs: Feb-18 B12 non-detect (zero) and Folate high; Feb-18 started injections; Apr-19 symptoms just about gone; Jul-19 re-tested and B12 was high; 1-Aug-19 stopped injections

Would appreciate input on latest bits A, E, and ferritin levels
I am bit concerned about my latest vit A and E readings: vitamin A (retinol) (C.L.H.P) 2.86 pmol/l (1.55-3.30) 819 ug/l (444-945) Is this good or should it be higher? I take fish oil and dried beef liver capsules daily (together, they are said to contain 100% of RV) since reading that non-animal vit

I’m asking some advice for my friends daughter who I’m convinced has a b12 problem. 5 yrs ago she was very ill and diagnosed with CF( (all started after a trip to Africa). She then started having awful migraines and has been rushed to a&e a few times as they thought she’d had a stroke but drs said it

For anyone interested in a potent supplement for raising B12
I’ve recently, because of my remaining symptoms, been testing to see if I might have an issue with B12, anyway these supplements were recommended to me and by my results I think you can see they have worked, so thought I’d share... They have 3 different types of B12 in them. I did this test which included

Can improved b12 affect need for thyroid hormones in hypothyroidism?
I have been self injecting b12 for about 2 months ( using to date 10 plus ampoules) and after a 2 week gap certainly feel the need for more, so believe b12 ‘deficiency’ at cellular level has been confirmed ( my b12 results were good, and my Gp wouldn’t test anything related to B12 for obvious neurological

False Positive PA Test
Hey guys, I took a PA test recently (Intrinsic Factor Antibody) and it came back positive. I'm always a little skeptical so I did some more research. I ended up finding the information below from Quest who is the lab that did my test. I had been getting 3 b12 injections per week when I got the tests

B12, Vitamin D, gut bacteria and sleep
Having found sleep disturbance a major symptom of B12 deficiency particularly when my injection was due, and having Vit D deficiency too I googled this and came across a really interesting article. Although B12 is not in the title, it is discussed as part of a group of deficiencies that can affect
