B12 and thyroid
Hi can any body tell me, preferably with references , if b12 deficiency can negatively impact the thyroid gland , eg raising tsh etc, or is b12 deficiency and thyroid function being impaired nearly an association?

I think I have PA but my test results say otherwise? (& rapid increase in symptoms?)
Hello! I have had anaemia for about a year and my GP has been trying to work out what is causing it. I initially had low-ish b12 so had the b12 injections and my anaemia improved somewhat; since then I have been on the b12 pills instead (as we wondered if i had a dietary deficiency). The anaemia has

PA diagnosis or b12 d
If IF antibodies are not present, regardless of symptoms, how can anyone ever be diagnosed with P A specifically, rather than just b12 deficiency?

I have since received b12 injections every three months which is protocol in Denmark where I now live. My symptoms prior to diagnosing were anxiety

Vitamin D and Magnesium. Due to have B12 deficiency tests, but will magnesium skew the results?
Hi I recently posted on here my Vit D level result 26.08 ng/ml 30-70 and have begun a course of 5000 iu per day for 6 days for a total of 10 weeks and then re-test. I also intend to take magnesium and vitamin C as well. But should I delay the magnesium until B12 tests done?

Help - hoping Doc will do Intrinsic Factor test
Hi all! Long time user of the Thyroid UK HealthUnlocked forum, first time poster over here. I am diagnosed hypothyroid (I think it's hashimotos due to antibody flares) and over the years have had low vit D and low B12. I'm aware that with hypothyroid it's important to have good vitamin levels to help

Recent retest B12 over 1,000
My dr diagnosed me with PA in February he recently retested my b12 and did another MMA test, my b12 serum went from 300 in February to over 1,000 this month and the MMA test is 0.7 it was only a point higher in February.... does the MMA test ever get better when having PA? Or will that always stay high

Iron supplement
Hi all My most recent iron’s level is 10 range (4.1 - 24 ). How much iron in mg per day should I take ? I bought tablets that contain iron, vitamin c and folate. I think one tablet contains 14 mg iron, is that enough? Btw, I have hashimoto.

I read in a post I now cannot find that this form of b12 can give some people side effects? Have I got this right? I'm on B12 hydroxocobalamin injections but do have these tablets are times. Are there other tablets that are better tolerated. I di seem better off them but it's hard to tell as when

Suitable medication for diabetes
In February my HbA1c reading was 41. Last week in hospital A&E it was 53. I understand that below 41 is okay; 42 to 47 is pre-diabetes; 48 and above is diabetic. I'm extremely exhausted to the point of being largely housebound. When I see my GP I suspect I will be asked to take medication for

B9 Folic acid
Hi All From reading blogs on the site, I understand that b12, b9 and iron have to be in balance with intrinsic factor to enable b12 to be absorbed in the ileum. If this is the case, why, on the NHS site does it have a list of symptoms for b9 deficiency that differ from those for b12? Wouldn’t b12 deficiency

3 Month Update. Input Requested
Hey everyone, So this post is a 3 month look back since my b12 deficiency diagnosis/treatment and to go over any progress made. I have plenty of questions so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. As a recap, back in 2010 I had a very bad reaction to Prilosec OTC that hurt my digestion greatly

Autoimmune atrophic gastritis vitamin deficiencies
Is it common to have multiple vitamin deficiencies with atrophic gastritis? I have struggled with my stomach since I was a child. If I wait too long before meals my stomach burns and I end up vomiting. I can’t take any kind of NSAID or my stomach burns and I vomit. I have been hospitalized with severe
