She had to have an
ileostomy
to rest the effected large colon . About 12 months later , 6" of the large colon was removed and the gall bladder was taken due to it being inflamed. About 3 weeks back she had surgery on an anal vaginal fistula to try and seal it.

Currently I use temp
ileostomy
. Actually I don't have any disease. I got my
ileostomy
because of there was a fistula in my colon due to hysterectomy. I undergone 2 surgeries. First surgery is to sticth the fistula but after 7 days, I experienced bleeding for 3 days.

Long term Zoladex use
I had the surgery and ended up with an
ileostomy
for 6 month while my bowel recovered. They tried taking me off the Zoladex but my body couldn't cope without it and I was symptomatic again very quickly so they put me on it for 12 months.

Newbie with a Permanent Stoma
I discussed the options with my consultant and it was agreed that the most appropriate option going forward was to have a procedure called a pan-proctocolectomy with end
ileostomy
which involved removing the colon, rectum and anus and creating an opening in my belly for the stoma.

Home from the op !
This of course may due due to the discomfort from my tummy and my new
ileostomy
! ( this is to be reversed hopefully) I was also wondering if after having been diagnosed NED, do we all have to go on to a preventative medication?

Following a flare up of UC (5 years in remission no problems) my boyfriend had an emergency subtotal colectomy and now has an
ileostomy
. Hadn't had any build up or preparation for this op so all a big shock.

IBD since 2009 temp ileostomy
I have been given a temp
ileostomy
for the bowel to heal, has anyone had this surgery due to a rectal prolapse before and know what it will be like once reversed? I must say life with a bag is very emotional.

Back ache
I have to date had 4 carbo/taxol followed by extensive radical surgery in May this year resulting in an
ileostomy
too. Iv had two carbo only then two carbo/taxol/avastin. I have 1 chemo left thankfully, then 15 avastin only. Throughout the day I develop back pain if I try to do too much.

Endometriosis, Serve pain, and more problems
So, the doctors removed it but the bleeding was severe after that procedure so I had to then get the 1st
ileostomy
with the stoma bag. And after having it for 11 months after that the doctors reversed it back to normal by removing the bag. Only after 6 months later I developed an internal rupture.

Living with Scleroderma and it's "friends"!
I have had scleroderma over 20 years, Raynaud's even longer, and since 2010 my health has declined with lots of other conditions diagnosed resulting in an emergency
ileostomy
procedure. Life can be up and down and it would sometimes be helpful to chat to like minded people!
