Unsure what to do
Hi, I’m taking Alendronic acid weekly at the moment. I was thinking of getting bisphosphonates by twice yearly injection instead. I’d love to know if anyone else have done this, and if there are any benefits for taking it this way.

What is going on
Two years ago I was diagnosed with PMR. Went down usual route of tapering . Managed eventually to get from 20 mg to 5 mg . Went very slowly but have now hit the buffers at 5 mg ...did get to 4 mg but went up again due to increased pain. I recently had a dreadful cough / virus which put me in bed for

Adcal and blood test monitoring
Hi I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in September 2018 following a Dexa scan. The main issue is my right hip but other areas classed as osteopenia. I completed steroid treatment for PMR but due to this and menopause my bone density has been affected. I took Alendronic Acid for a year and stopped it in

I am having quite a struggle with morning pain. Have been experimenting with split dose times of pred. I take omega 3 with evening primrose and flaxseed oils. Wondering if this was having an effect with the pred. I do not want to raise the pred so am looking for alternatives. As I am reducing I had read

Will the tooth fairy visit?
Well ....finally had my tooth out today at a London hospital. ( because of taking alendronic acid it had to be a dental surgeon) I was gowned up and a cloth put over my eyes which was quite disorientating. Took 40 mins to get the b....y thing out and I got a bit sweaty and shaky. I’d been told to double

A sleep concern
Hi Everyone, I haven't been here in a while, it's usually the case when things are going well. But recently I've developed this bad sleeping habit. (?) What's confusing is it came out of the blue. Something similar has happened before when my anxiety was bad ( I don't feel it's bad right now tho). As

Anyone know id NAC Sustain is Ok to take if you have APS
I was diagnosed with APS Syndrome over a year ago. I am Asymptomatic and never had a blood clot so the doctor does not want to put me on a blood thinner. Before I was diagnosed I was already taking multiple supplement's such as aged garlic, cayenne pepper, vitamin D, omega 3, turmeric, collagen, chlorophyll

Hi, Vesa and SimoneHU. Autophagy is one of the main benefits of Intermittent Fasting, but searching Health Unlocked for Autophagy does not lead to this forum, or any post or reply on it. (I have now made this post public, so it does.) https://youtu.be/gl8k2ncIQMc This video is about autophagy –

Don't Get A Respiratory Infection !
Wow, I just read the post from the poor guy who is suffering so badly with a cold. Those of us with heart failure and AFib have to be extremely careful not to catch something. I've had an auto-immune lung disease for 30 years, and now since I have AFib and heart failure, I have to be even more careful

Life is a living hell, crippling fatigue and brain fog
23, Male, Caucasian, 5'10, 165 lbs Hello all, I'm sure many of you can relate to my story so here goes. My health has felt like it’s been in the crapper for way too long. When I was 12-13 I was diagnosed with mild GERD (acid reflux). It affected my sleep a little bit from what I remember

Continuous Periods
So over the last three to four years I've been suffering with continuous bleeding. There are small gaps, for example I've been on my period in some form for 3 months now, I had a five day gap last week but still spotted lightly. I've had lost medication in the past to treat it, the pill, Tranexamic
