Following a course of IV steroids over 3dsys ,I was prescribed alendronic acid . I have since declined to take due to side effects as am already on enough meds . My pulmonary nurse tells me that if I get a chest infection I am now at risk of broken ribs and a pneumothorax from coughing and that I should

Quinoa and red lentil salad bowl 🥗
Hi everyone, Here's an easy salad bowl that I made today by cooking red lentils and quinoa together and when it was cooked I added chopped cucumber baby plum tomatoes and chopped white onion with a little chopped coriander and black pepper. I would have added chopped sweet peppers but forgot to buy some

Info and advice on DHEA
I need some advice on DHEA and whether this is a good idea to take and whether there are any side effects? Also can the fertility clinic refuse to start your treatments if you are taking this? One of the consultants at my clinic is against this medication but another is really for it. Unfortunately I

Raw Goat milk
Goat milk is considered one of the healthiest foods. It contains vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 that are important for the strengthening of the nervous system, and abounds in minerals (calcium, phosphorus, zinc, selenium) that play an important role for bone strength and maintenance of immunity. Is There a Benefit of Addition Docetaxel, Abiraterone, Celecoxib, or Zoledronic Acid in Initial Treatments for Patients Older Than 70 Years?
New study below [1]. I can't recall when the United States Preventive Services Task Force [USPSTF] advised that men who have reached age 70 should not screen for PCa. But knowing that the life expectancy at age 70 is close to 15 years, & that PCa incidence increases with age, I thought it was bad advice

Medicheck blood trst
I’m about to order the ultravit well woman test. Do I have to stop my vit b complex, magnesium, multi vit and omega 3 supplements before I do it? Also will it give me a cortisol reading or should I order that separately ? Thanks x

Excruciating Lower Left Pelvis Pain
Lately I’ve been experiencing unbearable pain in my lower left pelvis. It got so bad last month that I had to rush to the emergency room to get injected with tramadol because oral mefenamic acid was not working. I’ve had 2 surgeries already. First one, partial removal of both ovaries (the diseased parts

At what dose of Prednisolone can I stop Alendronic Acid
Obviously I do not want to be on AA so please do not advise me that I should not take it at all. I have tapered my Prednisolone dosage over the last 15 months from 20mg daily down to 4mg daily. At this level of Pred, can I discontinue AA?

Alendronic substitutes
I want to come off Alendronic acid. I remember PROpmr suggesting Magnesium. Which one? There is Mag Phos and Mag citrate. Will either do and what is the difference? I will also take Vit D, as I understand that is good too. I’ve just had a bone density done which is within normal limits. Have had PMR

Verrucae on my feet.
Hi all. Apologies if this posted elsewhere. I have 3 verrucae on my feet. Initially only the one for some years and slowly but surely has spread with one to the right foot and recently, another. I have tried EVERYTHING that can be bought over the counter and no change whatsoever. This includes: silver

GCA Sufferers Please be BMA (Be More Aware - than me!)
I have been a GCA sufferer for over ten years (6 months of Polymyalgia). And I have made mistakes - and sometimes - I just haven't been told or been made aware of important factors. Hands up for the following: 1 Did you know that you are safe if you chose to sit tight on your level of prednisolone proving

On methotrexate and pred, have been exposed to fungal skin infection. First aid advice please.
Hi I am currently on 23 mg pred and 25 mg methotrexate subcutaneous and I'm doing fine. But today I had a visit from a very dear friend whom I've not seen in ages. His skin on his face looked like the results of bad sunburn, red and flaky. Later in conversation it comes out that it is a fungal infection
