Have supersensitive gut with long standing gastro-intestinal issues. Stopped Predn. after 4 days of 5mg x2 daily. Now prx'd Hydrocortisone 5mg x 2 3 times daily - shocking side effects, gut worse. Take large range probiotics, has anyone experienced this?

Synacthen test shows cortisol/adrenal deficiency
]Hi, our son is 12 and has always had quite bad asthma - we've just been to see a new consultant today as his medication was upped to Seretide 250 2 puffs twice a day along with his montelukast 5mg about 6 months ago. He had also had a synacthen test which showed his adrenal gland now isn't functioning

Cycle 1 of BR compared to FCR, and any advice regarding Port v. PICC line please?
I had 5 cycles of FCR four years ago, and although the nausea was dreadful, I didn’t miss a day of work as I’d timed the treatment each month to start the day before my two long days of piano teaching at the local primary school. By the time my second day's teaching was ending, the nausea would kick

Morphea and turmeric
Has anyone any experience of using turmeric? I have scleroderma on my legs and feet, very painful burning etc at night. Saw that turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and started to use it for my wrist, 2 x 400mg a day. I know this worked because I ran out of pills so stopped for 2 weeks, it flared up,

I was being too optimistic !
I got up early this morning after having a very disturbed night yet again. I had to get up at 2am with severe hip/pelvic pain, simply could not lie in bed. Took painkillers and crawled back to bed at 4am. Anyway, had to be up by 8am as a Tesco delivery expected, and also hubby was going over to collect

Help! Experiences of Private Drs prescribing please
Hi, my saliva test is so bad - every sample below range - that despite trying CT3 and LDN it is looking more and more likely that the only way to progress is to take hydrocortisone. Unfortunately my cortisol blood comes back high, so I can't see an NHS GP prescribing me any and I know it is very expensive

Itchy bumps
I know this is a subject that has appeared before but it seems to me that no one has ever come up with a specific diagnosis/treatment for the spontaneous bumps that appear and cause so much discomfort. Have been seen by dermatologist who biopsied same - report states insect bites - these are definitely

Lichen planus overlap SLE
Have recently seen my GP & dentist about a particularly nasty infected bit of gum that developed from one of my life long characteristic recurring areas of inflammation & ulceration. I've been with this very good dentist for 4 years since my treatment for systemic lupus & sicca syndrome began. I added

Adrenal Exhaustion
Have been very poorly since beginning September when a stressy experience sent me over the edge. My GP sent me for a cortisol test after I insisted and it came back borderline. I am waiting to see an Endo but my appointment is on the 14th January. In the meantime I have an appointment to see an alternative

Adrenal Insufficiency
5 months ago I wrote a post regarding a recommendation by my Endocrinologist to change from Prednisone to hydrocortisone in order to 'wake up' my adrenals. I was reluctant to change because I have GCA and lost the sight of my right eye and also having read the replies to my pos, advising me against

Genital ulcers
Attended my rheumatologist today and am going to come off my methotrexate injections early in the New Year. Am concerned my ulcer frequency will increase and am wondering if anyone can recommend an appropriate steroid cream in case of a 'flare up'?

Itching joints !!
I have been in the throes of flare for the past month or so. At the same time I started to get raised itchy patches in most of the swollen warm joints. This is a picture of my very swollen elbow/upper arm. Been to see GP this morning and straight away he said he thinks it's psoriatic arthritis. The

got saliva results ( cortisol )
The results are what I thought, guess I'm here as part of my pity party for myself. They looked practically flat-line. My 8am was 5, normal is 13-24. At 8am should be the highest for the day. You're doing well if you're near the top, at 24. For the day, my "cortisol load" was 14, normal is 22 to 46.

Levo and eczema symptoms
Hi there. Have been on Levo for about 6 months, dose currently being monitored with frequent blood tests. Am on 50 mcg at moment. However within weeks of starting treatment I developed red / itchy skin on various parts of my body. GP prescribed a steroid cream which I am reluctant to use long term
