Negative side effects of NDT/T3 with severe M.E. + Perimenopause
Has anyone else with severe M.E. found that beginning NDT & T3 triggered inflammation & perimenopause symptoms? I'm late 40's with severe M.E. (predominantly bedbound) + comorbidities, plus a recent Hashi's diagnosis. After 3 months of slowly increasing NDT -& adding in T3- my resting heart rate

Thyroidectomy and Patient response
This commentary in Clinical Thyroidology reviews a study which indicated that thyroidectomy is better than "adequate" T4 replacement in Hashimoto's, improving issues like fatigue etc. The authors do not understand but the answer is clear. In Hashimoto's with remaining active thyroid tissue, the situation

NSAIDS anyone ?
When I was diagnosed with RA in 1989 , along with other medication , I was given diclofenac as a NSAID . This was later changed to Meloxicam by my rheumatologist . Which I took daily until this year . Fast forward to May 2021 and I tripped on a step in the house and fell heavily onto my left hip

NAFLD recent bloods
Hi just had some bloods all LFT spot on. ALP which was raised when I had an abscess on my gallbladder and liver back below the upper limit. Platelets all normal as well. My ferittin is still high 480 (should be below 336) also my haemoglobin is too high probably due to replacement testoterone.

TSH levels article?
I have just been for my annual blood tests to check my TSH levels and will therefore have contact with the GP next week to discuss my Levo prescription. I tried last year to get them to increase my prescription when my TSH was at 1.9 but failed miserably to convince them (I was offered HRT to solve

Third open heart surgery
Hi there, my partner has been diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis and will need a valve replacement soon. He has congenital heart disease and this will be his third open heart surgery. Has anyone here undergone multiple surgeries? How was it? There isn't much information online and I'm keen to know

59 and finally diagnosed
So finally after being told by my doctor many years ago bad periods - even with shooting pains down thighs and in my hands - was normal for some women. I complained many times but was fobbed off with otc painkillers. And of course IBS was mentioned Then it was definitely IBS .. 4 colonoscopies, one

Newbie here. I'm impressed by wealth of info I've started to discover here and wondering if anyone could throw some light on my test results as I can't find anything the same. I have suffered from fatigue, aching muscles, low mood etc for about 5 years but nothing major diagnosed except low iron in

Hormone replacement therapy to be offered over the counter in UK
I really do have to ask, will this end up with those who need it being more likely to have to buy it themselves? Obviously, in England, this cost would sometimes be offset against a prescription charge. But in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, it would be a real increase in cost by the total price

A 5 yr warrior growing weary
It seems like yesterday that I joined this community in an absolute panic. The information and support has kept me afloat emotionally as I try to help my dad navigate his advanced cancer. I’ve tried to stay in the moment and have faith in God and his doctors and thanks to you all, ignored the 3-5 year

Pacemaker with a leaky valve?
I have a slow heart rate...getting slower. Used to be in the 60's now commonly in the 50's and in the 40's when I sleep. I have a leaky heart valve which I believe is the cause of the slow heart rate. At my age of 78 and diabetes I do not think I am a good candidate for a valve replacement. Question

Third episode of persistent AF in 6 months
I had a successful cardioversion on Christmas eve and then another one just 4 weeks ago. Gutted because I went into persistent AF again yesterday. I take Edoxaban and have tried to take Flecainide but it makes me dizzy and very sick. I tried the "pill in pocket " yesterday but it did not work.
