Pacemaker with a leaky valve?

I have a slow heart rate...getting slower. Used to be in the 60's now commonly in the 50's and in the 40's when I sleep. I have a leaky heart valve which I believe is the cause of the slow heart rate. At my age of 78 and diabetes I do not think I am a good candidate for a valve replacement. Question...will drs consider providing a Pacemaker if I have a leaky valve.

Your question is very medical...to get right answer, please see a cardiologist.

Do you take beta blockers? Do you have episodes of dizziness? Which valve is leaking?

No beta blocker...I do take 180mg of Diltiazem daily. I am light headed when my hr gets low. Do not know which valve is leaky....It has been over 5 years...I will check my records (I have emailed a heart clinic in Hua Hin Thailand to try to get an appointment)

Consult with a cardiologist. They need to rule out sinus arryhthmias, the need for a pacemaker, and if it is adequate in your situation to use ditialzem which can lower the heart rate.
