Flu jab reaction
Had a horrid reaction to the flu jab last night. Slightly painful arm, shivery, nausea and stomach pains, muscle aches and generally feeling very unwell. I was surprised as I was ok last year. Improving this morning though and I guess it's better than getting the flu. Has it happened to anyone else?

Flu jab?
Hi everyone, I'm due to start enbrel at the end of November, currently on sulpha, and was just wondering because of this should I be getting a flu jab? Doc had told me last year I didn't really need it while on sulpha as there was no major impact on immunity with it but I'm wondering will that change

An Underrated Hobby of Mine
I really don't have any go-to hobbies like some do, something to take my mind off being anxious and depressed. You might have heard once or twice that well intentioned albeit inappropriate suggestion to "get a hobby and it will take your mind off feeling terrible." I work out but that's not really a

Coeliac related auto-immune hepatitis
Just been diagnosed with this - last year had sudden severe jaundice ALT > 1200 etc. CT and liver biopsy revealed inflamed liver and pancreas, the liver biopsy showing slight focal necrosis. The blood tests showed the presence of Coeliac related antibodies (TTG/EMA), subsequent biopsy of the duodenum

FLU SHOT QUESTION
Hi everybody. SO appreciate this site and everybody's input. I'm learning a lot. SO...I went to get a flu shot yesterday...I'm 2 years diagnosed in watch and wait and feel fine. The pharmacist was talking about the extra strong flu shot for seniors. I didn't know there were two different vaccines

New cancer vaccine trial helped kill breast cancer cells in Mayo patient (October 10, 2019 news item)
[Fellow travelers, this sounds a lot like Provenge. But instead of waiting over a weekend for the white blood cells to be returned from a lab in Atlanta or Seal Beach, CA, this article says the "shot is made right there, on the spot." Indeed, our adv. PCa future is likely tied up in the development

Itchy...
Evening all. Just when I think I've cracked it and am on the mend I think I'm getting itchy. Or it's all in my head. Not sure. I'll be calling the docs tomorrow but over the last couple of days I've started to feel itchy. Localised it seems to my forearms but if I think really hard about it then I can

New non live Shingles vaccine
There’s a new non live shingles vaccine called Shingrix - as opposed to old Vostavax used at the moment. It’s supposed to be 80/90% effective as opposed to current one which is 50%. However, it’s hard to access and costs around £300 - I think. Worth every penny if you can get hold of it. Louise x

Has anyone gotten the Flu Shot and if so were their any side effects or complications? I was diagnosed with PBC a year ago.

Flu shot 2019
When do you believe is the best time to get a flu shot? I keep reading by the end of October. Team sent me a message in September, and I was told it was too early.

Yesterday’s appointment at Dermatology
Hello. The photo is in response to KrazyKat’s post on craft hobbies. I knit these teddies for a friend’s son’s wedding earlier this year. I had an appointment with the dermatologist yesterday and it went surprisingly well. I saw a new consultant who really did seem to know about SCLE. She listened

Flu shot and Acalabrutinib
I'm in the USA on Acalabrutinib since June 21 2019. I had the flu shot meant for 65+ last Friday and started feeling woozy after about 1 1/2 hours later, with a small 99+ temperature. I spent the weekend off and on in bed. I felt like I had been in a dog fight, dog winning. I also had nose bleeds

Flu Jab
My GP surgery has a shortage of the flu vaccination, so in their wisdom they have decided to restrict the vaccine to over 60 year olds. Doesn't matter if you are 59 and at high risk, you don't get it. But if you are 60 and LOW RISK you will get it. Doesn't make sense other than it's just easier for them

Experimental TB Vaccine Looks Promising.
Usually, the BCG vaccine is given to children in nations with a high prevalence rate of TB but not for adults because efficacy varies. The new vaccine was tested on patients who had the latent form of tuberculosis (TB) Approximately 3,300 individuals participated in the study, with 1,626 of them getting

Flu shot
I cannot see where my last answer is but my husband and I are going for the fluu jab next week. We are both now in our early 80's and we will take anything that is going. I have no argument. It has kept us healthy until now,

Can vaccinations cause a flare?
I had a flu jab yesterday & I stupidly asked about the pneumonia jab. No she said there’s a shortage & you have to be on the priority list, I was. Well in the night all my joints were on fire 🔥. I can’t take pain killers, I’ve been awake since 4.30am in agony. Swollen painful 😖 joints all of them ☹️
