Has anyone gotten the Flu Shot and if so were their any side effects or complications? I was diagnosed with PBC a year ago.
Flu Shot: Has anyone gotten the Flu Shot and... - PBC Foundation
Flu Shot
I have them every year without any problems.
I take the flu shot every year. In fact, we are encouraged to do so. 😊
I had it last year and I’ll be having it on Saturday, I had flu the year before and it made me so poorly, I’ll never not have it now.
Thank you for your responses.
Yes and i got touch of flu afterwards felt miserable but i think we are advised to get it
Yes, I take a flu shot every year even before my pbc diagnosis. Doesn’t bother me except my arm is sore & the exact spot swells a bit & is warm to the touch. It goes away in a few days...
Yes, had mine two weeks ago, no problems. X
I have the flu jab every year l have never had any side affects it’s not a live vaccine so there shouldn’t be any side affects other than a sore arm. They do usually ask me if I’m allergic to eggs. I have lupus and sjogrens and personally recommend it as the flu can kill
Yes I always have every year for 9 years with no effects at all.
Last year though I reached 65 that meant having the one designated for the 65+. I did feel a little unwell for 3 days but will still be getting it done Saturday it may have been coincidence,. So I will see. It’s good the doctor wants to see you before hand you’ll have a chance to ask all you need to know. I would rather the jab than the flu.
Hi,
I was diagnosed with PBC in 2010 and have had the flu vaccination since then. Had this year's five days ago. I've never had a problem with it.
Yep had mine last night. It’s recommended we PBCers have it also Shingles jab if you are 70 plus
Good morning! I got the flu got a couple of weeks ago along with the shingles vaccine. Only side effects for me was a really sore arm. I have AIH/PBC overlap - was diagnosed in 2011.
I am 60 but advised to have the shingles vaccine since I had shingles a few years ago.
Just got my flu shot... I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have no side effects.
I have had them for many years without any problems
I get one every year. Now, because I’m 65, I got the turbo-charged one. No problems!
I have been getting the flu shot every year. I also believe we are encouraged to get one. Anybody with health issues should. It's felt if we get sick, we shouldn't get as sick. I seem to get sick every year around January and February
I never did a flu shot in my life. I don´t hardly ever get the flu.
As far as I know, it is not effectiv in older people anyway.
I got the flu shot no problem. The shingles vaccine a whole different story. Yuk!
I have flu injection every year hadn't effect my PBC
I had flu and pneumonia yesterday, so far only side effects two very sore arms making it difficult to sleep. A small price to pay for not getting flu or pneumonia.
A haven't had any side affects with flu jab and get it every year , av had pbc for about 6 years and was diagnosed with AIH this year and still got flu jab with no side effects
Every year and no issues
