Flu jab?

Hi everyone, I'm due to start enbrel at the end of November, currently on sulpha, and was just wondering because of this should I be getting a flu jab?

Doc had told me last year I didn't really need it while on sulpha as there was no major impact on immunity with it but I'm wondering will that change with enbrel?

I’m on Enbrel and my rheumy recommends I have it every year.

Anyone with RA is eligible for the flu jab. I always get it though never bothered before RA. I am on biologic drug now and had my jab on Monday. 🙂

Every uear without fail....on sulpha or not.

With biologic therapy it is usually advised that you get the flu vaccine. The flu jab is not a live vaccine so it is safe on biologics. You do need to avoid live vaccines such as the shingles one.

With RA you should have a Flu vaccination, but do ask your rheumy nurse if there has to be a time gap between having the jab & starting Enbrel.

Yes have a flu jab every year you are on it. Also ask about the pneumonia jab.
