Shingrex, while on Acalabrutinib ?
Hey all, like the sign says, has anyone received Shingrex while on Acala? I need to get it and my GP and Oncologist says to get it. Just wondering what reactions I should look out for after the crap I went through with my 3rd Phizer. I never had reactions to vaccines before but puttin 2 and 2 together

Care home Covid rules
Yet again my sons small care home has to lock down due to a member of staff testing positive. No one else has returned a positive test, everyone is double vaccinated yet they still have to lock down for 14 days. The general population don’t have to isolate if identified as a contact of a positive case

Flu Vaccine
OH and I both had flu jab yesterday - went in the chemist for antihistamine and came out with sore arms. I don’t know whether it is just this year’s vaccine or whether we have not been exposed to enough germs during lockdown but within a few hours I ached all over. This morning I have a flare and David

Is it okay to cycle my Levo dose?
Hi everyone, I am a 47-year/old female with Hashimoto’s. At the beginning of the year I dropped my Levothyroxine dose down from 125mg to 100mg on the advice of an endo because my TSH had been stuck at 0.01/0.02 for about seven years. My level then leapt up to 5.25 within a few months. My doctor has

flu jab and poss covid booster
I've just been offered one and expect they'll offer a booster covid when available. mine was pfizer. Never had flu in my life save on one occasion and rarely get colds. Always relied on being fit and having a good immune system. Therefore never had a flu jab. I'm 70. Any advice please.

Flu and Covid vaccine
Hello Has anyone wisdom to share about these vaccines? I assume we will all be offered the flu vaccine. Is there an optimal time during a chemo cycle for the vaccine? Same question for Covid vaccination. Plus I had my vaccines at month 4 and month 6 after previous chemo…so I think looking at gov advice

Vitamin B Complex Vitamins -What to look for?
Hi everyone, I was planning to get a Vitamin B complex vitamin as my recent ferritin was 60 ug/L (range 13 to 150) and B12 was 77pmol/L (range 25 to 165) so although not terrible they could be improved. I guess people are not able to recommend particular brands but can anyone recommend what to look for

Booster Vaccine
For those of you who maybe wondering about the booster vaccine, my hubby has been called up for his next Tuesday. He was to get the flu vaccine too, but that has been held up! Importantly, he does not have an MPN, but he is on immunosuppressive medications. So hopefully, we who have MPNs will be hearing

GP surgeries in England cancel flu jabs amid shortage of vaccine
This is intended as a general warning - not a discussion. For that reason, I shall close the post to replying. The article says they do not know if this is, or will, affect Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. [i]

Pneumonia vaccine?
I am booked in for my flu jab and GP has now texted to offer pneumonia jab as I'm 66. Just wondering if anyone has any comments about it,? I seem to remember hearing it can make you quite ill?

Update on Shingles Vaccination in UK
An earlier post made me check NHS Scotland about the shingles vaccination as my husband (without an MPN) is nearly 71 and hadn't been offered it - apparently it used to be done routinely with the flu jab when you reached 70, but last year our flu jabs weren't done by our surgery. It appears the website

Flu vaccine
I’ve had a request from my GP surgery to have the flu vaccine as I’m apparently now in the ‘Under 65 at risk group ‘, not sure whether it’s because of having a pacemaker or down to the heart infection I had last December , I’m not against vaccines like this but just having a cold affects me more since

Covid booster jabs.
I have a patient access community group at my GPs and although I'm a member, due to work commitments, was never able to attend them. Now I have flexible working days, I asked to be included to attend and the dates of next meeting. I noticed that the chair also sent me some information regarding a covid

Newly diagnosed with Hep C
Hello guys.. I went for a routine blood test around 8 weeks ago which showed raised ALT. Repeat tests showed raised ALT as well (110). Had a USG 4 weeks ago which came back normal. Further blood tests showed active Hepatitis C. I had a call from GP today with the results and was told I have been referred

Does the flu jab cause polymyalgea
My husband has Polymyalgea and is now on steroids. He has suffered quite severely but the steroids are definately helping. He is insistent that the problem was caused by having the flu jab. Has anyone had this theory suggested before ?

Modified Citrus Pectin - Galectin-3 Inhibitors
Modified Citrus Pectin is OTC and is, I guess, a relatively weak Galectin-3 Inhibitor. More powerful Galectin-3 Inhibitors are in development. https://www.alzdiscovery.org/uploads/cognitive_vitality_media/Galectin-3-Inhibitors-Cognitive-Vitality-For-Researchers.pdf Evidence Summary Have the potential

Symptoms but no diagnosis. Frustrating. I've tried everything and would appreciate any kind of advice. Please note this is a very long post.
I started to feel discomfort on the right side below my ribs about a year and a half ago. It wasn't pain as such but more of a discomfort that one should not feel daily. I was drinking heavily at the time; beer, whiskey, tequila. This discomfort has now become chronic that would last for a few hours
